Admirably consistent gelding who has already run twice this month - winning at Naas before failing (when favourite) to carry a penalty at Navan; in the form of his career and excellent chance.
Placed in half of her 16 starts, but remains a maiden. Went very close to ending the drought when a neck second at Navan (5½f, good to firm) last September. Has run well when fresh, so can't write her off.
Failed to impress for trainer Dermot Weld and owner the Aga Khan and not much better for Michael Herrington; new connections failed to find a fizz last month at Navan but should be better for that run.
Miserly return of one win from 17 starts on the Flat though that win did come at this track over slightly further; two fair runs on the AW in the winter suggest there may be more to come from this well handicapped filly.
Only won one of his 13 career starts and looks to be held off current mark; last seen finishing down the field in a race at Naas recently; something to prove these days.
Dual AW winner (5f/6f) who is 0-7 on this surface. Well held on both his recent turf runs, and not easy to make a strong case for despite tumbling handicap mark.
Triple sprint winner; his turf wins both being on fast ground; 6lb higher than that success at Navan last month, and held from this mark twice since, so needs to raise his game again.
Running well in defeat in a number of starts on the AW at Dundalk around the turn of the year and pleasing effort for new connections at Fairyhouse last month; worth closer examination.
Veteran. winner of three of his 67 starts on turf including a victory at this track; fair effort on seasonal reappearance run at Limerick late last month; one to consider off current mark.
Has talent but is let down by inconsistency; best race for a long time on penultimate start at Fairyhouse so no forlorn hope if things drop nicely for her in first-time cheekpieces
Two-time winner on the AW at Dundalk but the mare is still without a win in 16 starts on turf. Vast improvement needed if she is to take a part in the finish.
Forecasts
Crystal Dawn (9/4), Eleuthera (3/1), Maggie Thunder (6/1), Edessann (13/2), Blastofmagic (12/1), Paved Paradise (14/1), So Familiar (16/1), Tie A Yellowribbon (16/1), Red Cymbal (25/1), Pillar (33/1), Hatton Cross (80/1)
ELEUTHERA is in the form of his life at the moment and considering the lack of strong opposition it would not be a surprise to see him adding to his tally of six career wins. He only found one too strong last time out at Navan and given his current mood, might prove hard to beat. The old timer Hatton Cross might not look like the most obvious winner but he put in a fair performance last time out at Limerick and has fallen further down the handicap. He is not easy to rule out. So Familiar has not got the best overall record but is another starting to look well handicapped and showed she retain ability with two fair runs on the AW earlier this year.
- Eleuthera
- So Familiar
- Hatton Cross
