€45,000 yearling; half-brother to 1m AW/1m4f turf winner Opinionate; quite green on debut at Leopardstown at the start of this month; fair chance if improving but giving plenty of weight away all round.
Improved from debut to finish runner-up in a Naas maiden in June; followed up with fair performance at the Curragh a week later; step back up in trip should suit.
Filly by Starspangledbanner out of a Dansili mare; has put in two professional performances at Naas and Navan in races where the form has worked out well; more to come and one to consider.
Cost 10,000 euros as a yearling; first foal; has some winners in his pedigree but looks to the type to do better over further in time.
Cost 5,000 euros as a yearling; fourth foal; by Fastnet Rock out of a Zamindar mare; related to some speedy types and worth a check in the market on debut.
Valued at 10,000 euros as a yearling; first foal; dam was a winner as a juvenile; market moves would be interesting.
Bought for 21,000 euros as a yearling; fourth foal; half-sister to sprint winners Listen Alexander and Grand And Run; looks speedily bred and is an option.
By Dandy Man out of a Exceed and Excel mare; cost 14,000 euros as a yearling; first foal; plenty like about her speedy pedigree on the dam's side including a number of two-year-old winners; respected.
Cheaply bought as a foal but then fetched 10,500 euros as a yearling; showed plenty of promise on debut at Roscommon last month over seven furlongs; step back in trip perhaps not ideal but live chance nevertheless.
Filly by Dragon Pulse out of a Clodovil mare; only cost €3,000 as a yearling; weakened close home over an extended six furlongs at Limerick on debut; entitled to improve.
Kodiac filly out of a Shamardal mare. Improved from first to second start over C&D last month, but sent off at odds of 125/1 on each start which appears to tell it's own story.
First foal and cheaply bought as a yearling; pedigree suggests she will do much better over further in time; missed break on debut here earlier in the week but stayed on well; fair chance if starting better.
Forecasts
Eastern Voice (5/4), Dense Star (10/3), Helvic Princess (5/1), Alexandra College (15/2), Zozimus (14/1), Yaddle (20/1), Skipjack (25/1), Ahthatsgrand (28/1), Lightning Jock (40/1), Rock Etoile (40/1), Shannon Valley (50/1), Orochi (100/1)
With three racecourse appearances and three solid runs, this could be an ideal opportunity for EASTERN VOICE to finally get off the mark. The colt arguably tackled an inadequate five furlongs last time out and could show better form over this trip. Dense Star is another who has put in some useful performances in defeat though the step back in trip is not ideal. Yaddle completely missed the break on her debut but was doing some good work in the closing stages. With a bit more professionalism she should go well.
- Eastern Voice
- Dense Star
