Improving son of Golden Horn who was a ready winner when stepped up to 1m6f (good) to firm) at Goodwood on his reappearance last month. Up 6lb for that, but looks every inch a stayer and could prove tough to beat now up again in trip.

Made a promising debut at Newmarket (1m, good to soft) in October, but not as good on either start since, the latest his first after being gelded. Step up to this trip may aid with improvement, but pedigree leaves him with that to prove.

Made all to easily break her duck at the sixth attempt in a Catterick maiden (1m4f, good to soft) earlier in the month. Handicapper has left her mark after that, and will probably need at least as good an effort as well as having stamina to prove.

Looked moderate at two, but is unbeaten at three, having recorded a hat-trick in class 6 and class 5s at Yarmouth (twice on good to firm) and Chelmsford over 1m6f. Up another 6lb, but trip looks ideal if he can find more improvement.

Showed a glimpse of promise on her second juvenile start, but looks to have been a little harshly treated based even on that run now that she reappears for her handicap debut. Improvement needed.

Well held in all three starts so far, including when 300-1 and an 18L third of five in a Newmarket novice event last time. Can only watch.

Verdict

Alphabetical arrives in cracking form and will need to build on that again in this better race, but that is far from ruled out. However, STAG HORN looked as though this trip would suit when scoring last time and he is taken to underline his class. Sly Minx can't be ruled out, even if it was a weak enough race that she won easily at Catterick, while Table Mountain represents a team that could have induced improvement during her break.
