Looked useful at two without winning but made return from 591 days off with winning start in h'caps at Newmarket (1m, good; 2-1f) 25 days ago in first-time cheekpieces. 2lb higher in deeper race but capable of better still for top connections.
Improved in each of four starts at three; culminating in Nottingham maiden win (1m½f, heavy; 4-6f) in August; more to do on first start in 328 days but another with scope for better.
Soft ground winner last year over 1m4f at Newbury; placed five times in 10 starts (one win); got closest to all the way Newbury winner (scored again next time) on return over this trip and claims from 1lb higher with champion rider up.
Won both starts on the AW in November; stepped up to 1m4f on return at Lingfield a month ago and only managed fourth (6-5fav); drops back in distance for turf bow and has his claims.
3-23 on turf and generally consistent, ran into one last time at Newmarket when distant second behind You're Hired but was in turn 4¾L clear of everything else. Races from the same mark and should get involved at business end.
Eight turf wins in his career but not getting any younger; no win since 2018 though he threatened a couple of times last year in five runs (both at Chester); entitled to be sharper for return at Redcar but others more convincing.
Soft-ground C&D winner last June and, having won the previous month on similar ground at Nottingham; was back near that winning mark prior to be second behind easy winner at Pontefract on return. Useful 7lb claimer on top helps but ground a worry.
Been round the houses in his career; versatile sort has run well enough in recent AW/turf starts since racing returned and gets 2lb back from the assessor now; could harbour place claims.
Got up late to win four-runner Newmarket handicap (1m2f, good to firm) under this rider 13 days ago; that essentially developed into a match and more on his plate now from 3lb higher.
Soft-ground Doncaster winner in August last year off a mark of 70; handles better ground but hasn't looked a soon-to-be-winning again sort in three recent runs; something to prove.
Forecasts
Rhythmic Intent (15/8), Desert Caravan (7/2), Repaupo (11/2), Ghaly (6/1), Delph Crescent (7/1), Music Seeker (12/1), Wimpole Hall (25/1), Scottish Summit (33/1), Baraweez (40/1), Illustrissime (50/1)
Wimpole Hall won what became a match last time at Newmarket, he's only gone up 3lb for that and shouldn’t be dismissed too readily. Repaupo returned from a long absence to win at HQ last month as well and commands respect upped in distance while Ghaly, Desert Caravan and Scottish Summit have reasons to feel they'll get involved too. RHYTHMIC INTENT couldn't reel in frontrunner Gin Palace (won again next time) at Newbury last time but closed well from an unpromising position. With Oisin Murphy up now, he's got leading claims in this line-up with a repeat.
- Rhythmic Intent
- Wimpole Hall
- Repaupo
