Modest form as a 2yo (had three runs in pretty quick time) at 5f, shaped with promise on his last juvenile effort. Appeared ring-rusty on his return/handicap debut at Hamilton (6f, good/firm), blinkers on first-time, dropped down in grade from 0-60.

Exposed maiden as a 2yo at up to 7f (ordinary form) who doesn't look to have taken a step forward this year, beaten off this mark last time. May have been slightly unfortunate at Catterick (7f, good), hard to make too many excuses though, back at 6f.

Still looked inexperienced when last seen on Fibresand making his third start over 5f. Goes into handicaps with some potential for this sphere back on turf (first time since debut), up to 6f, not highly-tried, should offer something off this mark.

May well have shown more as a 2yo had it not been for a series of slow starts over sprint trips. Gelded over the winter he got away better on his reappearance at Beverley (5f, good/firm) behind a subsequent dual winner, worth considering back at 6f.

Stable debut having cut very little ice in minor events plus two handicaps for William Haggas over5f/6f as a 2yo. Not unfancied in the market on either handicap start so far she drops to a career-low now, needs to show more spark before supporting.

Made minimal progress with Ivan Furtado as a 2yo (well supported on a few occasions) at up to 7f. No impact since joining his current yard apart from extending his losing sequence (remains a maiden, 0-10), falling in weights without taking advantage.

0-9 so far, ran one of her better races at Chelmsford (6f, slow) penultimate start (no match for principals), still poor form. Ran to a similar level at Wolverhampton (6.1f, slow) last time, 0-4 on turf, others offer a more solid option.

Very little promise in three 2yo starts for Keith Dalgleish at up to 6f (started 40-1 each time; makes stable/handicap debut in a first-time hood. Runs from 1lb out of the handicap, less negatives than a few in here, market move would stir interest.

Hard to see many signs of ability in seven outings as a 2yo/3yo, tried at up to 1m (most starts at sprint trips). Had four attempts in handicaps off basement marks on turf/AW, latest effort at 6f (showed very little), visor now tried for first-time.

Forecasts

Rusalka (9/4), Zuckerberg (5/2), The Grey Bay (3/1), Pull Harder Con (7/1), Deevious Beau (20/1), Amber Road (20/1), Speedymining (22/1), Moneyball (33/1), Red Hottie (50/1), Oribi (80/1)

Verdict

Just an ordinary affair but there are one or two that may be able to show more than they have so far. Two of those making their handicap debuts make some appeal with Amber Road looking to be the best of the Ruth Carr duo that the trainer runs in this race although it may be a run or two before she gets the full measure of her. Speedymining appeals as one with a little more to give as he steps into this sphere for the first time the addition of a tongue-tie may help him produce a little more. The tentative suggestion is THE GREY BAY stepping to 6f from a fair run behind a subsequent serial winner at Beverley last time over 5f. Moneyball and Deevious Beau two others to consider.
  1. The Grey Bay
  2. Speedymining
  3. Amber Road
