Potentially useful based on his two wins so far, the first over 1m at Newcastle in February, and then when stepped up to 1m2f at Lingfield last month. Now tries turf and should make a bold bid for a hat-trick from this mark on his handicap debut.
Triple winner at 7½f-1m as a juvenile, including back-to-back Ripon nurseries on good/good to soft. 80-1 and well beaten when reappearing in the Britannia at Royal Ascot last month, but not ruled out back at this level.
Scored at Newcastle (1m, AW) last autumn, when not needing to be as good as he had been on debut. Improved when held in second at Newbury (1m, good to soft) last month, and looks well treated on handicap debut.
Improving with each run and scored on his second start at Lingfield (7f, AW) last October. Bettered that when third on his handicap debut at Kempton (1m, AW). Respected from the same mark.
Improved when winning on his nursery debut at Chelmsford (1m, AW; first-time visor) last September, and was marginally better again when 3L fifth on his recent return to action at Lingfield. More needed again, but can't write him off.
Best effort so far was when winning a Brighton nursery (7f, good to soft) last October (fifth start), when 5lb lower. Couldn't get involved over 7f at Haydock on his recent reappearance, but could bounce back and take a hand.
Forecasts
Tsar (13/8), Rovaniemi (15/8), Oslo (9/2), Yes My Boy (8/1), World Title (22/1), More Than A Prince (25/1)
Archie Watson has two feasible contenders in Yes My Boy and World Title here, but neither may have what it takes to handle TSAR, who is improving and looks potentially well treated for this handicap introduction. None of the other trio can be ruled out in what looks like it might prove a trappy contest, certainly for minor honours.
