1-1 here, having taken a handicap 6f handicap from a 2lb lower mark in March; two lesser runs last month but possible he needed those to put him right, and is drawn to attack tonight; blinkers now given a try,
No win in 11 starts and is starting to look fully exposed, very disappointing on latest start at Yarmouth last month, never looking likely to figure; possible switch back to all-weather will revlitalise her, but others have stronger claims.
Sent off big prices all five starts to date but has shown ability, particulalrly when a staying-on third at Kempton (6f) in January; not raced since March so may need this, but she's unexposed and open to improvement.
Hard to win with, as a record of one win in 27 starts shows, but he's run well here a couple of times and handles the surface; well held at Leicester in the week (flag start) and may be happier at the minimum trip rather than today's 6f.
Had just the five starts and can be given a chance on her 1½l fifth to Rocketeer here in March, may not have stayed 7f at Yarmouth last time and drop back to 6f looks a positive; not ruled out, with improvement a possibility.
Showed little in three starts at 5f for Tim Easterby last season and now starts out life for a new yard; might appreciate this step up to 6f but in truth, hasn't shown enough to warrant strong consideration tonight.
No wins or place in eight starts and already looks modest, best effort coming with some cut in the ground at Chepstow last September; well held in a change of headgear on reappearance last month, and others readily make more appeal.
Hasn't shown a lot in eight starts but possible he's needed time and he did hit the frame at Chelmsford over 6f last month, albeit a well-held third; might be capable of better but others hold stronger claims to the prize tonight.
Three very modest efforts over 5f/6f last year, sent off huge prices on each occasion; handicapping at least offers him a more realistic chance but hard to find many positives to date.
Sent off big prices in three starts last season, showing next to nothing, and hard to see where even this lowly mark comes from, in truth; no realistic chance on what we know.
Forecasts
Sparkling Diamond (10/3), Pull Harder Con (7/2), Rocketeer (9/2), Comeatchoo (5/1), Marina Grove (11/2), Gmasha (17/2), Heer I Am (20/1), Shaun's Delight (25/1), Littlemissattitude (40/1), Conker (80/1)
A very winnable race. Gmasha could do better dropped to 6f, having appeared not to stay 7f at Yarmouth last time, but ROCKETEER looks the safer conveyance after a C&D win here in March. A couple of recent runs should have set him straighter and with the blinkers on to aid him, he can make almost all from stall 1. Sparkling Diamond is more likely to hit the frame than win but should be thereabouts and Littlemissattitude has shown enough to think a race of this nature isn't beyond her.
- Rocketeer
- Gmasha
- Littlemissattitude
