Owners Group Makes A Great Gift Handicap

Class 5  |   2m  |   Good (Good to Firm in places)  |   8 Runners  |   Turf

Weighed In

Off time: 15:20  |   Winning time: 3m 32.82s

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-7  |  J: Rob Hornby |  T: A King|  OR: 75|  D

Dual winner when with with previous trainers but yet to get off the mark for Alan King and was too free at Sandown last time. This a drop in grade but others arrive in better heart.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-7  |  J: D C Costello |  T: Stuart Edmunds|  OR: 75

Seen more over hurdles last year but good third back in this sphere at Sandown last month and clearly shown this longer trip is what he wants now. May have more to come.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-4  |  J: Rossa Ryan |  T: N J Hawke|  OR: 72|  CD

Two quick wins last month on return to racing and showed he can do it on turf as well when scoring over C&D on latest. Up another 5lb but probably has more to come in this sphere and warrants serious consideration.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-2  |  J: S M Levey |  T: K C Bailey|  OR: 70|  D

Is known on the Flat as an AW performer but showed he can cut it on turf as well when just failing to get up over C&D last month. More to offer on grass and has to be a big player.

Age: 10|  Weight: 9-1  |  J: Joshua Bryan |  T: B J Llewellyn|  OR: 69|  CD

Second win at this track last August and only 2lb above that mark today. Did well in circumstances to finish fourth here last month as was caught too far back.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-11  |  J: Tom Marquand |  T: A W Carroll|  OR: 65

Decent handicap hurdler but better was expected on his return to this sphere at Sandown so something to prove after that though yard is in better form now.

Age: 4|  Weight: 8-8  |  J: Gavin Ashton |  T: Ian Williams|  OR: 62

Standout effort when second here in September but modest either side of that and hopes rest on return to this venue sparking a revival for a yard having a quiet spell.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-6  |  J: B Doyle |  T: A W Carroll|  OR: 60

Tailed off on both runs on the AW in the winter and need to see him in better form before supporting on that evidence.

Le Musee (13/8), Nelson River (10/3), Red Royalist (5/1), Blazon (13/2), Fibonacci (9/1), Arty Campbell (14/1), Tribal Commander (16/1), Roudrapour (66/1)

BLAZON was kept to the AW for his Flat exploits but showed here last month he is well worth persevering with on this surface and with luck he may have even won that. Compensation awaits and he is narrowly preferred to hat-trick seeking La Musee. Red Royalist showed at Sandown last time that he has more to offer and looks best of the rest.
