Horse A-Z
Son of Dubawi. Not beaten far at all on debut at Lingfield (1m) in November but folded tamely when 18L seventh at Newbury (1m2f) last month. Should be better than that and this is easier. Some claims.

Very modest start to career when well-held over 1m1f at this track and offered little improvement with 17L defeat at Kempton (1m) in January. Not seen since but hard to fancy on that poor form.

Dabirsim gelding. Did the donkey work and wasn't disgraced on debut when 6L sixth at Haydock (1m2f) in early June. Likely improver from that so not to be discounted stepping up in trip.

Has a nice enough pedigree and showed better promise last time when 4L third in 1m2f Beverley novice. Stayed on well that day so step up in trip should pose no issue and is a leading contender on that form.
Golden Horn gelding. Slowly into stride and never a factor at all when 31L last of seven at Newbury (1m2f) in mid June. That form doesn't look good enough and one for handicapping in time.

Exceed And Excel colt. No match behind ready and classy winner on debut in 1m3f Kempton novice but stayed on well to take closing third that day. Open to improvement and one who makes the shortlist in this.

Cheap purchase and showed why with poor debut at Newmarket (1m, good) last month. Fly leapt out of the stalls and outpaced that day so not obviously the easiest. Others have far better form in the book.

No match for classy stable companion on debut but was distant fifth on return in 1m2f Sandown maiden recently. Not one to give up on for trainer who does well with these types in time.

Frankel filly who attracted some support on debut, but ran green and eventually beaten 14L into sixth at Nottingham (1m, heavy) in November. Not seen since but will need slightly more to be competitive in this.

Verdict

A race which seemingly looks to be a match between two with the best form on offer, LABEEBB is the selection to progress once more and get off the mark. He caught the eye with his staying-on nature around a trappy track last time and it is likely the form of that race will work out well in the future. The jockey and trainer duo have been in good form recently too, which can only be a positive. Hatheem is closely-matched on form and looks an improving sort, but may lack the tactical speed edge in this, while the likes of Real Poet, Glory Dab and Frankenstella look set to be long-term prospects but may offer encouragement in this before stepping into handicap company in the future.
  1. Labeebb
  2. Hatheem
  3. Real Poet
