Off the mark when tried over C&D last week and created a favourable impression in the process. Today's rider settled the colt well on that occasion and her knowledge of how to handle her mount is a positive factor; certainly one to bear in mind.

Was a game winner on her debut at Wolverhampton in early June but it was always flying high pitching her in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot (Group 3) shortly after. This is a more realistic level and no surprise to see the filly play a strong role.

Nicely bred filly (given her £4,000 purchase price) who built on a promising debut run at Yarmouth when she went on to make all over 6f at Chelmsford in mid-June. The filly again looks a likely pace angle and has to be respected; shortlisted.

Made little impact in either of her two previous starts and already has a good deal to prove. Yard going well but this filly looks like she might be better off when contesting handicaps at a later date.

Never a factor on debut at Chepstow and lacked the pace to pose any kind of threat. She's a half-sister to a 1m4f-2m winner, so very feasible to suggest a longer trip might be beckoning before too long.
Stablemate of Bonny Miss Molly who cost just £3,000 as a yearling; she's a half-sister to a 7f winner (as a juvenile) and, given that her dam is a half-sister to the useful middle distance performer, Nicolosio, she's more of a long term prospect.

Speedily bred and represents an in-form yard that does well with this type. Holds a Newbury Super Sprint entry and wouldn't have to be out of the ordinary to successfully use this as a stepping stone. One to monitor closely in the betting.

Forecasts

Hot Scoop (11/8), Julie Johnston (3/1), Follow Suit (7/2), Cuban Breeze (9/2), Costa Teguise (25/1), Bonny Miss Molly (100/1), Tempah (200/1)

Verdict

The presence of Julie Johnston virtually assures a strong pace given her trainer's history of producing capable front runners; the switch to turf shouldn't be too much of an issue and it would be no surprise to see her go close to adding to her tally. However, HOT SCOOP showed a willingness to battle over C&D last time out and might well be capable of giving weight and a beating to the rest. Cuban Breeze is an as yet unknown quantity but ticks a lot of the right boxes in terms of pedigree and potential, so also merits serious consideration if he attracts interest in the betting ring. Follow Suit is significantly eased in grade and must also enter the calculations.
  1. Hot Scoop
  2. Cuban Breeze
  3. Julie Johnston
