Completed a double when scoring by an impressive 7½L in a 1m6f handicap at Wolverhampton on seasonal and stable debut recently. Visor worn for the first time that day is retained and he holds strong claims of defying a 5lb penalty upped in trip.

Successful three times on the Flat in France and completed a handicap hurdle double on good ground at Huntingdon last October but disappointed on good-to-soft ground here subsequently. Worth a check in the market in this contest.

Struggled in the main last year including when well beaten in a first time visor (absent since) over 1m6f at Wolverhampton in August. Making her first appearance since finishing well beaten over fences at Fontwell (good-to-firm) later that month.

Victorious on three of his five AW starts but has yet to trouble the judge in four outings on turf including when 9½L sixth over 1m6f at Sandown (good) earlier this month. Others hold more obvious claims.

C&D winner registered decent efforts in both starts this year including when 5L seventh of eight over this C&D on good ground just over a fortnight ago. Worth a check in the market with blinkers tried for the first time.

Returning from a break when finishing 22L sixth in a C&D handicap on good ground earlier this month. Has won off a higher mark in the past but is probably best watched at present.

C&D winner ran well when finishing 9L fourth in a good ground C&D handicap last time out. Races off a 4lb lower mark here and is a notable runner having won off this mark in the past.

Twice a winner over hurdles including at Cheltenham (2m1f, soft) in December last year. Decent 12th at the Festival there in March and market support would be notable upped in distance having finished 12L ninth at Kempton (1m4f) last time out.

Showed good form when finishing runner-up in a handicap over an extended 2m at Wolverhampton earlier this month when making his return to the Flat. Of interest racing off a mark 3lb lower than for his most recent success.

Victorious on fibresand over an extended 2m at Southwell in February and has run well in defeat on two of his three subsequent starts including when 2¼L fourth over the same trip at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Interesting on return to turf.

Forecasts

Gold Arch (7/4), Repetitio (3/1), Bailarico (6/1), Be Fair (9/1), Master Grey (11/1), With Pleasure (14/1), Age Of Wisdom (14/1), Londonia (20/1), Valse Au Taillons (20/1), Searching (28/1), Akkapenko (40/1), Takbeer (66/1), Willyegolassiego (100/1)

Verdict

GOLD ARCH impressed when making his first start for his current stable a winning one last time out and he can complete a treble having won his final start of last season by taking the concluding staying handicap. The selection looks capable of getting the better of his rivals here with With Pleasure, runner-up on the AW last time out and a winner off a higher mark in the past capable of finishing runner-up ahead of Bailarico who is another to have won off a higher mark in the past.
  1. Gold Arch
  2. With Pleasure
  3. Bailarico
