Winner at 7f/1m on turf last season but form subsequently tailed off. Modest return when 6L sixth at Newcastle (1m) this month. Top claimer booked. Not to be discounted.
Made solid progression for this yard last term, ending with back-to-back victories, but certainly in need of the effort when last of 12 in similar contest at Doncaster (1m) this month. Should come on for that but more still needed.
Back-to-back winner last year. Didn't quite go on as expected last term but bounced back with good second at Doncaster (1m) last time out. Place claims once again.
Twice a winner in 2019, with last coming at Ascot in September. Showed little in two starts this season however and must bounce back from poor 15L defeat behind todays rivals at Doncaster (1m) this month.
Usually goes well when fresh and holds form lines. Returned with narrow defeat at Beverley (1m, good) earlier this month. Has 4lb penalty for that effort but on the shortlist.
Smart performer who tends to fare better on the AW and that showed when game winner of 1m handicap at Newcastle this month. Up 3lb and this is a step up in class but respected.
Last win came at Ripon (1m) in July but form has generally tailed off since. Inauspicious return with 16L defeat at Doncaster (1m) and needs a revival sooner rather than later.
Had been failing to fire in 2019 and beginning of this year but bounced back with shock victory in 1m Newcastle handicap in March. Not seen since but does go well fresh. Place claims.
Previous winner at this track and tends to usually run his race. Took a step back in right direction when 2L fourth at Doncaster (7f) this month. This trip should suit better and enters calculations.
Admireable campaigner who isn't seen much these days. Looked to be on a downward curve when down the field in 1m Galway handicap last July and not seen since. Best watched today.
Had a good 2019 registering four victories. Yet to really get going in two starts this term, including 5L sixth at Ripon (6f) a week ago. Back up in trip but needs to re-find best form.
Form tailed off last season but bounced back with victory at Newcastle (7f) two starts ago. Higher mark subsequently found him out at Chelmsford (7f) but back down to last winning mark. Not to be discounted.
Failed to make a mark since transferring to this yard and couldn't land any blow when 12L eighth at Pontefract (1m2f) earlier this month. This looks too tough of a contest for him.

Star Shield (3/1), Hesslewood (11/2), Dawaaleeb (13/2), Siglo Six (7/1), Rousayan (17/2), Al Erayg (9/1), Tukhoom (12/1), Alfred Richardson (14/1), Knighted (14/1), Gallipoli (28/1), Baraweez (28/1), Triple Distilled (33/1), King's Pavilion (40/1), Star Archer (80/1)
The feature race of the day, STAR SHIELD has shown an aptitude for this course in the past and is well-fancied to return to winning ways in this. He took a step back in the right direction with a pleasing effort last time out and is now back around a mark which saw him place in some tougher contests at this venue last term. Rousayan also perked back up to his level with a good defeat last time and with his trainer in good form, would be dangerous to ignore, while the likes of Hesslewood and Al Erayg showed good aptitude which would set them in good stead for this level last time. Dawaaleeb also cannot be ignored given his strong record when running off of an absence.
- Star Shield
- Rousayan
- Hesslewood
