7f winner at Ayr (good) on his second start in novices' company last September, and his 4½L fourth in the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes at Newmarket (heavy) in November was a good effort. Well held on his reappearance (6f), but interesting up in trip.
Well placed to win three of his five starts, on a variety of ground, including soft in the most recent of them at York (1m) last October. Open to further improvement this season and looks a big player resuming 5lb higher.
Debut winner at Goodwood (6f, good) last year, and later in the season he finished just ½L adrift of Lucander at Doncaster (1m, good to firm). Now 8lb better off with that rival, so can't rule him out, though he hasn't improved at the same rate.
Scored second time out last year in a Kempton maiden (7f, AW) and returned with a marked improvement on that to win a 0-85 handicap at Newcastle this month (front three clear). 4lb rise looks far from insurmountable. Contender.
Stepped up on the promise of her Newmarket debut (7f, soft) when scoring on her reappearance at Chelmsford (1m, AW) recently in a fillies' novice event. Needs to do so again to defy this initial mark, but wouldn't rule that out.
Not fully exposed despite being beaten on both handicap starts, when he produced similar efforts at Kempton and Lingfield, both over 1m last autumn. Has won on good to soft. Needs a bit of improvement, but that isn't ruled out.
Improved on his Doncaster debut run to score next time at Newcastle (7f, AW) last November, before following up back there readily over 1m recently. Has gone up 7lb for that, but unexposed, improving and a possible contender if handling the ground.
Well held on sole run for Hugo Palmer, but much better in two runs for Andrew Balding, winning the latter at Chester (7f, soft) last September. Changed hands for 70,000gns since, and remains of interest now entering handicaps.
Saved her best until her fifth and final juvenile start, when racing prominently and scoring at Newmarket (7f, soft), when 6lb lower. Not far off that level when third over C&D recently, and could come on for that and get more competitive in this.

Forecasts
Brunch (11/4), Angel Power (10/3), Canagat (5/1), Ajax Tavern (7/1), Hexagon (9/1), Lucander (10/1), High Flying Bird (10/1), Rich Belief (10/1), The First King (11/1), Strait Of Hormuz (16/1), Wild Thunder (20/1), Gravity Force (28/1)
A good race to look forward to here. Probable contenders include Canagat; Angel Power; Hexagon and Brunch. Strait Of Hormuz and High Flying Bird are also unexposed and considered, along with Gravity Force. However, LUCANDER still has plenty going for him, and is proven over this trip on slow ground, so he still looks a very solid option.
- Lucander
- Canagat
- Angel Power
