Ended his time with David Lanigan by recording a 2L victory in a 1m4f handicap here last September. Raised 5lb for that victory and is of interest stepping up in trip with a visor (first time) replacing the blinkers worn in recent starts.
Decent effort despite finishing last of three in a novice event over an extended 1m5f at Chelmsford in September. Held fifth over the same C&D the following month and market support would be notable on handicap debut.
C&D winner was making his first appearance since being gelded when winning impressively by 9½L over 2m at Kempton recently. Carries a 5lb penalty for that success and a bold show expected with the visor worn for the first time that day retained.
Shaped as if a drop in trip would suit when weakening into seventh in a handicap over an extended 2m at Newcastle earlier this month. Blinkers tried for the first time in this contest.
Returning from a break and stepping up markedly in distance when break his maiden by ½L in a 1m5f handicap at Lingfield earlier this month. Raised 4lb for that triumph and holds strong claims upped in trip once more.
Yet to win in 17 Flat starts and was beaten 5½L when finishing fifth in a handicap over an extended 2m at this venue in January. Others hold more obvious claims.
Successful over 1m4f for this yard in August 2018 but has been lightly-raced since and is probably best watched on first start since finishing 53L ninth over hurdles at Wincanton in March last year.
Sole success in 20 previous starts came in first time blinkers in a three runner 1m6f handicap at Chelmsford in August 2018. Worth a check in the market racing off an 7lb lower mark in this event.
Making his first start since last August when finishing 11L ninth over an extended 2m at Newcastle earlier this month. Drop back in trip looks likely to suit and interesting to see how he performs.
Good fourth over an extended 1m1f at this venue in December but struggled when 13L 12th over 1m2f at Newcastle subsequently. Probably best watched stepping up in distance following a break.
Forecasts
Red Secret (8/13), Gold Arch (16/5), Elhafei (8/1), Accessor (18/1), King's Counsel (20/1), Just Once (28/1), Gripper (33/1), Jamacho (33/1), Card High (50/1), Penny Poet (50/1)
RED SECRET impressed when winning last time out and he can defy a penalty to take the concluding staying handicap. The drop in trip shouldn't pose any issues to the selection who can get the better of Elhafei, another to taste victory on his most recent outing while the first time visored Gold Arch can finish third under top weight.
