Ex-Joseph O'Brien; kept on strongly (from off the pace) to score with something in hand at Chelmsford (7f) on Wednesday; is turned out swiftly under a 5lb penalty; holds every chance of following up.
Hadn't beaten a single rival in nine successive starts (6f-1m) until making all (well-backed) over C&D 102-days ago; 5lb higher on this occasion; 100% at his best when able to dominate - fate will soon be known if he doesn't.
1lb lower than when runner-up here (6f) last October; somewhat in and out over 7f since, and if anything appears to hold a preference for Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton.
All-out winner on the strand at Laytown (7f) in September 2018; left the Melbourne 10 soon afterwards, and hasn't exactly sparkled for his current trainer, falling 20lb in the weights since March 2019.
Stayed on to fill the frame (beaten 1¾L) on C&D handicap debut in February; interesting to see how he fares in the market exchanges in relation to stablemate Fuwairt; possibilities.
Just held on when scoring over C&D (Class 4) in February 2019; ran his best race so far for his current trainer (also saddles Treble Clef) when fourth of 12 to Kennocha at Lingfield (7f) a fortnight ago.
21-race maiden; finished a keeping on third (beaten less than 1L) to the Tony Carroll-trained Musee D'orsay over C&D 102-days ago; others preferred on the balance of probability.
Under-performing Society Rock filly (remains a maiden (0-7)); finished a remote last of three to the long odds-on Hassaad in a 5½f Brighton novice (good to firm) last September; is easily dismissed.
14-race maiden; off the track for 570 days (since September 2018); would only merit a second glance in first-time blinkers were a strong market move to develop - has the odd bit of fair form over 7f in Class 6 handicaps.
Forecasts
The Game Of Life (5/4), Fuwairt (4/1), In The Red (5/1), Mrs Benson (10/1), Waqaas (10/1), Treble Clef (14/1), Viola Park (16/1), Mischievous Rock (50/1), Abuja (100/1)
In The Red must dominate in order to hold a realistic chance of winning, but equally if doing so could feasibly set this race up for a fast-finisher. Therefore, by far the most obvious candidate is Wednesday's penalised Chelmsford scorer THE GAME OF LIFE, who was given a fine ride there by Josephine Gordon. Of the remainder Treble Clef enters the thought process, while the newly-blinkered Mischievous Rock merits a cursory market check.
