Dubawi colt who landed the odds on debut at Chelmsford (1m) in November despite a slow start. Clearly well thought-of, and has potential to progress further under a 7lb penalty now switched to turf.

Dubawi half-brother to Kingman from a stellar family. Lived up to his pedigree when defying greenness to win a C&D novice by 3¾L from Duel In The Sun recently. Sure to progress, and looks a most exciting prospect.

By Night of Thunder out of a 2-y-o 6f winner, herself a daughter of Cheveley Park/Coronation Stakes winner Indian Ink. Already gelded, and probably best watched on debut.
Toronado half-brother to 2-y-o 7f winner Paulownia and 1½m winner Lubinka out of a half-sister to Prix de La Foret/Poule d'Essai des Pouliches winner Danseuse du Soir. Some appeal on pedigree, but he will find much easiier openings than this.

10/3
Kingman colt who shaped like a winner in waiting when second of 9 to Cherokee Trail in a 1m novice at Newbury on his only juvenile outing. Place claims with normal improvement, but will do well to win.
Night of Thunder colt who shaped with some promise when 11½L fourth of 10 to King Leonidas over C&D recently, Place claims if stepping up on that, and will do better down the line.
From the family of Prix Gladiateur winner/Gold Cup fifth Bathyrhon, but a cheap purchase, and likely to need more time/distance.
Cable Bay half-brother to smart 2-y-o 6f winner Earl of Leitrim. Shaped with promise on debut at Sandown last year, but below that form in his return, and of more interest when handicapping.

Forecasts

Sunray Major (8/13), Montather (3/1), Imrahor (10/3), Al Mutathar (16/1), Late Arrival (25/1), Southern Dancer (80/1), Atlas Flame (80/1), Poker Master (150/1)

Verdict

SUNRAY MAJOR, a Dubawi half-brother to Kingman, was very impressive given his inexperience when winning over C&D earlier in the month, and looks sure to be hard to beat with normal improvement. Montather was well backed when winning his only start at Chelmsford, and looks much the biggest danger, although Imrahor also looked above average when runner-up at Newbury last year, and is sure to do better.
  1. Sunray Major
  2. Montather
  3. Imrahor
