Did well here fortnight ago on return over inadequate trip when finishing strongly over 6f into sixth. Extra furlong sure to suit having gained only win over extended mile at Nottingham last year.

Won 6f Leicester h'cap and 7f Yarmouth h'cap last term, latter success coming off 3lb lower than current mark. Yard yet to hit form and may very well improve for this first run for 261 days.

Full sister to Ayr Gold Cup and Listed 6f winner Don't Touch. Won on debut last season then outclassed in Group 3, but bolted in on return at Pontefract last week on handicap bow and may take some stopping under her 6lb penalty.

Dan won three at this trip and this daughter of Pivotal was off the mark on just her second start when scraping home in Wolverhampton 7f novice event in January. Makes handicap bow for top yard and may not be at all far away.

Second in novice events at Chelmsford and Kempton last year and didn't get best of runs before staying nicely to finish fifth of 12 on handicap bow at Newbury 6f earlier this month. Stays this trip and runs off the same mark.

Only win from 23 runs came in soft ground over 6f on July course in 2017. Plenty of solid placed efforts since and blew cobwebs away with a spin at Lingfield two weeks ago. First-time cheekpieces applied for yard in fine form.

Invincible Spirit filly out of unraced dam related to some talented 1m4f performers. Built on promise of Kempton debut with win back there 7f in November. 226-day absence and makes handicap and turf bow of 76. Market may shed some light on chance.

All four turf wins have come over 1m so drop back in trip doesn't look obvious move on first start for over seven months. 3lb higher than last win at Ffos Las in September and may prove better for this outing.

Just 3-42 and has never won beyond 6f. Steps up to this trip for first time since 2yo days and will do very well to figure in the finish on first run of the campaign and 3lb higher than last win.

Won 2-3 first starts including 7f Redcar novice auction event last August but was generally disappointing in four starts after, including in handicaps. Eased 2lb since last of 11 in Wolverhampton nursery in November. Yard in good form.

Looked green on debut over 7f Lingfield in February but improved when 5th of 12 over same C&D month later. Straight into handicap on this third start for yard firing in the winners and is worth considering

Forecasts

Exceptional (5/6), Nehaall (9/2), Hunni (9/1), I'm Available (10/1), Al Dawodiya (12/1), Kyllachys Tale (18/1), Penpal (22/1), Nirodha (33/1), Fumbo Jumbo (100/1), Queen Of Burgundy (100/1), Corofin (125/1)

Verdict

EXCEPTIONAL created a very good impression when winning by over five lengths on her handicap bow at Pontefract last week and she will be hard to stop up a furlong and under her 6b penalty if recovered from those exertions. If she fails to fire then Nehaall is the type to do better this season and would be a big danger, and both Al Dawodiya and Penpal are also open to improvement. Corofin shouldn't be discounted despite her lack of experience, while I'm Available shaped well on her return and will be suited by the extra furlong this time.
  1. Exceptional
  2. Nehaall
  3. Corofin
