First-time cheekpieces applied on handicap bow having shown ability both starts last term when placed at both Newcastle and Southwell. Yard tickinng along very nicely and not out of this despite top weight.

September 2019 Wolverhampton 7f maiden winner and made promising reappearance when second at Yarmouth 7f h'cap a couple of weeks ago. 1lb higher but decent apprentice claims what looks a valuable 5lb.

Signs of a little ability in his three runs last term and shaped as though would improve for run when sixth over 6f on handicap debut at Newcastle earlier this month. 2lb lower and extra furlong should help his cause.

Kodiac filly who showed ability in three AW runs this winter finishing second in Chelmsford 7f novice event in February. Turf and handicap debut now for yard in great form so could well attract market interest.

240,000 euros daughter of Dark Angel who stayed on both outings as a juvenile when fourth at Lingfield and Haydock last summer. Type to do better this year and not overburdened on handicap bow.

Starts 3yo term off 2lb lower than final run last season when failed to shine at Wolverhampton 7f. Returns following wind surgery have promised but failed to deliver a time or two in 2019.

Won Chepstow 7f fillies novice auction stakes but failed to build on that in two further runs last season including on handicap bow final start at Kempton 1m in October. Good apprentice claims 5lb off 2lb lower mark but may find a few too good.

Off to a flying start winning Goodwood 6f event on debut in June but was fairly disappointing in three starts after that including on handicap debut at Kempton in October. 3lb lower now and possibilty may go best fresh.

Modest form first three runs last season in novice events but improved on handicap bow over 1m at Kempton in September when half-length second off 5lb lower mark. Drop back to 7f not obvious ploy but yard in decent form so may not be far away.

Won Leicester 6f nursery off 60 final start of four last term and kept on well to take second at Kempton in March only start since. 1lb higher now and yard fairly quiet but 7f may suit and she is not out of it.

Five starts second half of 2019 best effort when second in heavy ground at Yarmouth in October. May not have been suited by Firm ground there on reappearance 7f recently and eased 2lb since. Has a bit to prove.

Hinted at some ability all three starts last term and made late headway when beaten less than four lengths on handicap bow at Chelmsford last week. Runs off same mark but young rider claims useful 5lb. Could be thereabouts this time.

Stable companion of Top Class Angel. Went agonisingly close on seasonal return when losing out by a nose at Chelmsford last week. Runs off same mark but has to show he is equally effective on turf.

Three starts last season for Jane Chapple-Hyam and gelded prior to joining current yard a few days ago. Makes handicap bow off 63 but doesn't jump off the page as a likley winner here.

Forecasts

Lily Like (7/1), Albert Edward (7/1), Gladice (7/1), Clever Candy (8/1), Jerbourg (9/1), Glen Esk (10/1), Sovereign Beauty (10/1), Productive (11/1), Clegane (11/1), Gert Lush (12/1), Top Class Angel (18/1), Vintage Polly (22/1), King's View (25/1), Robert Frost (50/1)

Verdict

In a trappy contest ALBERT EDWARD is suggessted as a value bet having caught the eye when keeping on well on his first run back this term at Chelmsford. He will be even sharper now. Top Class Angel is interesting making her handicap bow and any market interest in her would be siginifcant, while Lily Like was second on his third and last start and is another who makes some appeal on his first run in a handicap. At the top of the weights both Productive and Gladice are of some interest, and further down the list Sovereign Beauty is not out of it either.
  1. Albert Edward
  2. Top Class Angel
  3. Lily Like
