100,000gns foal; 375,000gns yearling; fifth foal; half-sister to four sprint winners, the best of whom is Group 3 2yo winner La Rioja (other pair both useful). Dam unraced. Didn't run for Andrew Balding. Check market ahead of her belated debut.
Big prices and well beaten in just one run in each of the past two seasons. Much improvement needed on her return from another 11-month absence.
Fourth foal; half-brother to winner Bondi Beach Boy (multiple 5f) and Bondi Beach Babe (5f-6f); dam well held in 2yo sellers over sprint trips. Stable not usually associated with debut winners, so probably one to watch unless market vibes strong.
£95,000 2yo. 25-1 from 33-1 ahead of his recent Newcastle debut (6f, AW), but never really got into that race. Can benefit for the experience, but likely to have to wait for other days.
€20,000 yearling; half-brother to two sprint winners, the better being Rantan. Dam unraced sister to Italian 6f-7f winner Spinning Yarn. Trainer back among the winners and does best (15% over five years) with his 3yos. Market check advised.
Has shown some promise on all four starts, but so far failed to deliver a maiden success. Gelded prior to his reappearance. Acts on soft and should again be competitive, though is at the same time vulnerable.
9,000gns foal; 12,000gns yearling; fourth foal; half-sister to two winners over 7f-1m; dam 6f-1m winner. Trainer 10% with 3yos over five seasons, and while she can't be written off on debut, it would be nice to see market support.
Couldn't get competitive with the promising Art Power when 11-1 on her recent Newcastle debut (6f, AW) but saw everything else off. Bypassed her declaration at Leicester on Saturday in favour of this, which could be a strong hint.
Showed up well on her debut last August, when just over 2L third of 10 in a Beverley fillies' novice even. Couldn't build on that on her only subsequent start. Has had wind surgery in the build-up to this reappearance, and could have a say.
Well held 50-1 chance on debut at Pontefract (6f, good) last year, and beaten almost as far when 250-1 on her recent reappearance at Wolverhampton (7f, AW).
First foal; dam an unraced half-sister to 7f AW winner Javelin and Hong Kong 7f-1m winner Amazing Satchmo. Top stable 13% with 3yos over five seasons and does have debut winners, so check the market for clues.
Forecasts
Electric Mistress (11/8), Seas Of Elzaam (9/4), Pattaya (11/2), Dot The Eyes (12/1), Excel And Succeed (12/1), Unapologetic (14/1), Manumission (20/1), Mediate More (40/1), Hail Sezer (80/1), See My Baby Jive (100/1), The Saddle Rock (250/1)
There don't look to be many obvious candidates for this division on paper. There will surely be some interest in the most expensive runner in the field Pattaya, who makes her debut as a four-year-old, having not made the track for her previous trainer. A good run from her wouldn't be a surprise, but preference is for ELECTRIC MISTRESS, who ran well on debut and swerved another engagement to come here. We'll take the hint. Excel And Succeed, Seas Of Elzaam and newcomer Unapologetic are others to consider.
