Won 2 of his last four starts last season at Yarmouth and Chepstow before struggling off higher mark on AW final outing. Usually needs a run or two before finding his feet so others are preferred.
Won modest Class 6 1m5f classified stakes at Chelmsford in January and may have failed to stay on first attempt at 2m when only fourth at Newcastle in February. Not seen since but has run well fresh in the past.
Shown very little on turf in five unplaced efforts but did a little better when second in 1m4f h'cap at Newcastle AW penultimate start. Hard to fancy on previous form on this surface.
Won twice in last 12 months, striking over 1m6f at Redcar last June then on latest start when staying on well to win Newcastle 2m AW h'cap last time. 2lb higher now and drop back in trip may not be to his benefit.
Only win came at this distance back in 2016 when trained by Clive Cox. Form has deteriorated over last three years and showed little on first run following wind surgery when well beaten last time at Southwell in March.
Sole success came at Ripon in 2018 over 2m off just 48 but ran well enough last time out when just held by Nearly There. 4lb better off now but does appear to be better at staying trips these days.
Redcar 1m6f h'cap winner two years ago but ran badly all three starts last term and has been dropped 8lb in total. Has a lot to prove if he is to be taken seriously for this event following more than a year off.
2-33 tells its own story and both those wins for David Loughnane have come on AW at Wolverhampton, the latest over this trip back in April 2019. Debut for new handler but doesn't jump out as a winner-in-waiting.
Six very moderate efforts last term for Noel Wilson and steps up in distance having failed to cope with 7f-1m2f in previous starts. Hard to fancy unless the trip brings about serious improvement.
Broke her maiden in Thirsk 1m4f h'cap off just 45 last season having struggled at other trips both before and in one start after. 5lb higher but it arguably unexposed at this trip and may have a little more to offer this term.
Only Flat win came at Ayr over 7f but has won over almost 2m over hurdles at Catterick. Missed 12 months prior to two very modest runs over timber earlier on this year. Market may indicate if better is anticipated now.
Two wins over hurdles last summer but has done very little of note on the level and will do well to figure here unless she has turned over a new leaf.
Only ordinary but has been running conisistently at this level on the AW tracks for the last 18 months winning twice at 1m4f Wolverhampton and once at Kempton. Had bits and pieces of turf form in early career so a fair effort not discounted.
11-race maiden but appeared to run her best race so far when third over 1m4f at Newcastle AW last time but that was six months ago. Fitness has to be taken on trust.
Forecasts
Kaylen's Mischief (18/5), Urban Spirit (5/1), Calevade (11/2), Travel Lightly (11/2), Nearly There (12/1), Lady Shanawell (14/1), Feebi (14/1), Raven's Raft (16/1), The Brora Pobbles (20/1), Ember's Glow (22/1), Ateescomponent (25/1), The Mekon (25/1), Chelsea's Boy (50/1), Leodis (80/1)
This is a very modest event and its hard to be enthusiastic about any of them. FEEBI is a token suggestion returning to the trip over which she won a little race at Thirsk last year. Top weight Kaylen's Mischief hasn't run for 10 months but has a shout on the pick of his form, while at the bottom of the card The Brora Pobbles would have a chance if ready to go after six months off. There shouldn't be much between Nearly There and Urban Spirit on previous running, while Calevade has run respectably after a break in the past and enters calculations.
- Feebi
- Calevade
- The Brora Pobbles
