Won on heavy ground over a similar trip at Yarmouth in October before failing to follow up off revised mark over same course and distance; may need to drop a few pounds to win again but may have improved over the winter; fair chance.
Was in fair form around this time of year last season before form tailed off; certainly has something to prove and not hard to pass over in this contest; cheekpieces applied for first time here.
Fair dual-purpose performer; still looking for his first win on the AW and this trip looks very much on the short side these days; difficult to see him getting competitive.
Had been in generally consistent form before the shut down mainly at Lingfield; probably needed the run when last of 12 at Chelmsford a few days ago; encouraging she is turned out again so quickly and has chances if taking to this surface.
All recent AW runs have come at Southwell; rarely gets beaten too far though still looking for first victory; is quietly creeping down the weights so no forlorn hope.
Only made his debut last season as a seven-year-old: has only beaten one horse home in three starts and it would be a stretch of the imagination to believe he is capable of winning this on his handicap debut.
Wins his fair share of races and looks well handicapped at present; showed his well being when third over this course and distance recently; arguably better in headgear (left off again today) but reasonable chance nonetheless.
Yet to shine on the track in seven attempts; certainly needs to improve to take a hand in this; falling handicap is a plus but this might find things tough based on all known form.
Two wins from 32 starts at the track, and a handful of placed efforts as well; reasonably drawn here but needs to put a below par effort last time behind him; reasonably weighted and has fair place chances.
Tends to run his best races at this track but record of no wins in 14 on the AW is not encouraging; possibly needs to drop a few pounds in the weights to get competitive again.
Way down the field in four Flat runs with Marcus Tregoning and looked just as limited over hurdles including when pulled up last time at Uttoxeter; others readily preferred.

FALSE ID has shown much more consistency of late and if able to carry on that run then the gelding may prove too strong for his rivals in this weak looking contest. The seven-year-old loves it around here and rarely runs a bad race. His handicap mark seems reasonable at present. Topweight Mac Ailey deserves respect given the way he won at Yarmouth two starts ago and he has already proved he handles this surface. Shaffire looked as though she needed the run recently at Chelmsford and if taking to this surface holds every chance.
