Showed ability when a 17-2 winner (shade cosily) on debut at Redcar (5f, good to firm) last September, when front pair where clear. Carries a penalty as a result of that, so will need some improvement, but sets the standard.
Showed a fair degree of promise over C&D on debut (good to firm) 14-months ago, but didn't kick on from there. Gelded in the year since he was last seen, and returns with a little to prove. Draw looks positive.
Second foal. Dam 6f-6¾f winner (inc. at two) and half-sister to 6f Group 2 2yo winner Mattmu. Stable 13% over five years with its 3yos, who tend to improve for their debut run.
3,000gns yearling. Second foal of a 1m2f turf/1m4f AW winning half-sister to 1m Group 3 winner Shamwari Lodge. One of three in this for the trainer, and might be tapped for toe over this trip.
Best of four starts last season was his debut at Newcastle (5f, AW), but things progressively tailed off thereafter. Not seen since last July, and since gelded. Trainer has 15% strike-rate with his 3yos and this one remains of interest.
By Zebedee and a half-brother to four winners, out of a 1m winner. 80-1 on debut at Newcastle last week, but was prominent much of the way until finishing 5¾L fourth of 10 (6f, AW). Stiff 5f should suit and he could be a big player.
Half-sister to four winners and dam placed in Group company over 6f. 50-1 and weakened out of it to be 19L ninth of 11 on debut at Newcastle (6f, AW) last week. Should benefit for that experience but may have to wait for other days.
3-1 but didn't show a great deal on debut at Pontefract (5f, good) in August. Was very keen and ultimately well beaten last of 12 on only other start at Newcastle in March. Bit to prove now, but not one to write off just yet.
Third foal. Half-sister to 5f winner Sparkalex, out of Listed-place 5f 2yo winner. Bred to go well over the minimum trip and trainer 9% (five seasons) with his 3yos. Market check suggested.

Forecasts
Modular Magic (9/4), Silver Sniper (11/4), Olcan (9/2), Birdie Bowers (11/2), Moon Power (9/1), Toffee Hammer (14/1), Portia's Pearl (20/1), Cressbrook (25/1), Noddyolder (50/1), Annangel (80/1)
With a plumb draw, MODULAR MAGIC may be capable of defying his penalty to make it 2-2, after scoring on debut last year with something in hand. Birdie Bowers gets the handy stall two and went well first time last year, so is not ruled out, along with Moon Power, who could do better if settling. Silver Sniper looks a danger to our selection, while Olcan is not ruled out and both Toffee Hammer and Crossbrook are interesting newcomers.
