Brother to two winners including 7f Listed winner Radio Gaga, and half-brother to two more, but showed little after a slow start on recent Newcastle debut. Can do better at some point, but easy enough to pass him over here.
Shamardal half-brother to useful 5f-1m winner Ejbaar and 6f winner Mutabaahy. Badly in need of experience when 7th of 12 in a 7f novice at Kempton in September. Type to improve markedly, and folly to ignore based on that bare form.
Better effort as a juvenile when sixth of 13 to Vintage Rascal in a 1m½f novice at Windsor on debut. Gelded since disappointing here next time, and wears a hood now. May still improve on that promising start, and market will guide.
Kingman colt out of a useful French AW winner from a good family, and cost 375,000 gns as a yearling. Represents a powerful and in-form stable, and must be high on the shortlist given his pedigree and price-tag.
Bred for artificial surfaces, and related to US winners. Needed the run, but shaped well when fourth of 11 to Sky Lake in a 1m novice at Newcastle in October. Sure to improve, and respected on his return to action.
Motivator gelding who was slowly away and always behind in a 1m novice at Lingfield in February. May do better in time, but of very limited interest in this contest.
Showed promise on his opening start when fourth of 8 at Sandown (7f), staying on. Below that form behind the classy Quadrilateral at Newbury, but should do better, especially if he can avoid slow starts which have marked both runs to date.
Dam was a Group 3 winner over 1m2½f in France, and third dam is a full-sister to the brilliant Ravinella. This son of Invincible Spirit is of obvious interest making his debut, assuming the market speaks in his favour.
Son of Camacho who showed a little before weakening to finish last on debut at Ascot in July last year. Plenty of improvement required to get involved here.
Frankel colt who showed speed to lead on both starts at 1m last year, but only beat one rival in the end. Questions to answer, but pedigree enough for him to retain some interest at this level.
Fountain of Youth half-sister to a number of winners, albeit at a modest level. Faces quite a stiff task on paper, and easy enough to look elsewhere.
Kept on without threatening the leaders when sixth of 10 in a fillies' novice at Leicester in September. Unfancied there, and bred for better, so not dismissed out of hand.
Forecasts
Astro King (10/11), Ahdab (7/1), Mephisto (7/1), Mersin (12/1), Jahrawi (12/1), Hesssa (12/1), Unresolved (14/1), Arij (16/1), Champagne Fountain (66/1), The Mackem Torpedo (80/1), Mr Nutherputt (125/1), Magic Lute (200/1)
Some well-bred sorts on show, and none more so than ASTRO KING, representing the Sir Michael Stoute/Ryan Moore combination, and this son of Kingman makes most appeal in the absence of market clues. Mersin is another with an excellent pedigree, and looks the main danger, with Jahrawi just about the pick of those who have racecourse experience.
