Godolphin cast-off (sold unraced for £5,500 in January 2020); slowly away and never involved when finishing in mid-division over 7f on the Fibresand at Southwell 89 days ago.
7,500gns yearling; was doing his best work at the finish when just over 4L fifth of 12 to Bond's Boy at Redcar (6f, good to firm) last August; absent since.
Epaulette gelding; half-brother to the 5f-6f winner Henry Bee; nothing whatsoever to enthuse over in two starts to date (5f-6f); far safer to look elsewhere.
Canford Cliffs gelding from the 6f AW winner Khobaraa; took a marked step forward from debut when finishing 3½L fourth to Jeanie B over 5f here (good to firm) last September, but this looks more competitive.
Fourth foal from the 1m winner Clodova (was a half-sister to two winners herself); should be sharper and wiser for the benefit of this initial racecourse experience.
Zoffany gelding (€20,000 foal, 8,000gns yearling); half-brother to two winners; made some late headway into the frame on debut (33-1) at Newcastle (6f) 92 days ago.
£36,000 yearling; fourth foal from the Listed-placed 5f juvenile winner Skylla; brother to the 5f winner Skeetah, and a half-brother to the 6f AW scorer Skyva; a possible each-way player.
€50,000 foal, £67,000 yearling; fifth foal from an unraced dam; brother to the 5f juvenile winner Flawless Jewel; half-brother to the Group 1 winner Sands Of Mali (6f) and Kadrizzi (5f-6f); likely player, assuming that a wide draw doesn't hinder.
Glimpses of promise in two starts as a juvenile (Beverley, 5f) but not enough to suggest that she's a ready-made winner in waiting; should do better once allocated a handicap mark.
Dubawi filly (170,000gns yearling); half-sister to the Group 3 winner Tourny (5f-6f); fluffed the start and soon on the back foot at Chelmsford (5f) when bidding to build upon an encouraging Haydock (6f, soft) debut.
Invincible Spirit filly; tenth foal from the 1000 Guineas winner Attraction; winning siblings include Fountain Of Youth (5f) and Huntlaw (1m); another very interesting runner from the bang-in-form Mark Johnston yard.
From an unraced dam who was a sister to the useful Hong Kong scorer Passage West (7f-1m2f); easy to back and showed signs of inexperience when finishing behind today's rival Nobby Nuts at Newcastle (6f) in March.
Forecasts
Motion (6/5), Magical Moment (11/2), Joshua R (11/2), Sands of Giza (17/2), Dream Together (11/1), Royd Edge (14/1), White Copper (20/1), Nobby Nuts (20/1), Majalaat (28/1), Nearly A Gonna (40/1), Bella Figlia (80/1), Hi Harry (100/1)
Magical Moment fluffed the break on her second start at Chelmsford, but if forgiven that blip would hold a solid each-way chance. However, as with the first division of this contest (35 minutes earlier) the strong likelihood is that one of the newcomers will hold sway. Obvious candidates include Royd Edge, the wide-drawn Cool Silk Partnership runner Sands Of Giza and the Mark Johnston-trained Attraction filly MOTION.
- Motion
- Magical Moment
- Sands of Giza
