Sole older contender in this contest; half-brother to a winner at up to 2m Bollin Judith and 1m4f winner Multellie; dam 1m2f-1m4f winner. Stable know this family well but trip looks a little on the short side for this stoutly-bred newcomer, best watched.
Better chance of the two that the yard run despite going backwards from his debut; made a promising start to his career when unfancied on debut over 7f at Doncaster. May have found his last outing coming too soon, should be suited by this trip.
Newcomer by New Approach, second foal, dam a winner up to 1m (2yo 6f winner), half-sister to useful winner up to 1m (stayed 1m2f) Pelerin. Already gelded his stable have yet to have a sinner since racing resumed, best watched for now.
Attracted very little support on his sole 2yo outing (20-1) but showed that he had ability over 7f at Ayr. Fared best of the newcomers, finishing on the heels of the leaders, open to further progress stepped up in trip for his seasonal return.
Teofilo colt, tongue-tie on for his debut, 80,000gns yearling, half-brother to 7f winner Portledge, dam 1m-1m2f winner. From a good stable and with a pedigree that suggests this trip and further (in time) will suit; interesting newcomer.
The lesser judged debut outings of the two that the stable run in this. Looked to need time (which he's now had) when held up after being slow into stride over 1m here last August (dropped away quickly); need to have made considerable progress.
Newcomer who has the assistance of the champion jockey; half-brother to several winners, dam, 2yo 1m winner who stayed 1m4f, sister to high-class winner St Nicholas Abbey. Interesting to see what the market makes of his chance.
€120,000 yearling, sixth foal, half-brother to three winners, including useful winner at up to 1m Baby Foot. Dam, 7f winner, half-sister to 7f-1m winner Johnny Castle out of 7f 2yo Listed winner. Market to provide a guide to his chance.
Failed to create much of an impression on his debut start when 100-1 and unseating his rider soon after leaving the stalls at Nottingham. Hard to construct much of a case for his chance on the available evidence.
Yard has a good record with fillies; yard appear to have got going now (double here on Sunday). Well-bred sort, half-sister to three winners, including couple of smart ones; dam, once-raced, out of a daughter of dual Champion Stakes winner Alborada.
Once-raced filly who has a fair pedigree (sister to smart Ronald R); showed ability on her debut at Nottingham (1m, heavy), looks sure to improve. Not unduly punished, promise of more to come especially stepped up 2f in trip, one for the shortlist.
Still holds an Irish Oaks entry having shown ability on her one outing at a 2yo (1m, Newcastle). Full sister to dual Ripon winner Theatro, half-sister to smart stayer Lord Yeats, looks one who will enjoy some cut and longer trips in time.
Forecasts
Albaflora (9/2), Celestial Bliss (9/2), Coincidence (9/2), Matthew Flinders (11/2), Casting Vote (13/2), Queen Of Camelot (9/1), Our Girl Sheila (12/1), Prince Of Tides (12/1), Camahawk (25/1), Tindrum (33/1), Bollin Neil (100/1), Hart's Dream (150/1)
There may be slightly more depth in this division which contains a few that have already shown ability and some interesting newcomers. CELESTIAL BLISS outran her odds when making her debut at Ayr and given some time to develop she could be ready to show the benefit of that first start. Our Girl Sheila showed promise on her debut and stepping up in trip will suit her along with Queen Of Camelot another who looks sure to relish this trip. Well bred newcomers Coincidence and Albaflora are two other to consider their pedigrees suggesting that both will have the ability to make a bold showing.
- Celestial Bliss
- Albaflora
- Our Girl Sheila
