Ran well in some hot handicaps last season and back in the winners enclosure when taking a 1m4f Listed race in France in February. Ran poorly on only previous try at this distance but that may have been too bad to be true so wouldn't dismiss.

Improved 29lb on his way to winning six out seven last summer from 1m6f to 2m2f last season prior to a flop in the Cesarewitch. Two wins on the AW amongst those and likely to have more to offer, though this now the bottom end of his stamina.

Simple task to break his duck at this track but then looked a stayer of quality when rattling off a hat-trick at Wolverhampton. Has a real turn of foot and the handicapper may not have caught up with him yet despite another 5lb hike.

Feather in the cap of his trainer as he has improved him since bought from John Gosden. Two from two over this distance here and lost nothing in defeat at Kempton when last seen. More to come and can't be dismissed easily.

Third here last September only previous try this far and others appeal as stronger stayers. Bled from the nose when well beaten at Lingfield when last seen in January. Stable seem to hold stronger claims with Clap Your Hands.

Had a really busy winter but thrived on it and although he does most of his racing over 1m4f he is fully effective at this trip. Goes well for this apprentice and although he needs a bit more in this grade, can't be dismissed.

C&D winner only previous run here in February and has fitness on his side having performed with credit when fourth at Newcastle last week finding only the progressive four-year-olds too good, but it could be a similar story in this strong race.

Dual course winner over 1m2f when trained by Sir Mark Prescott. Lightly raced since but got off the mark for current trainer at Southwell. Yet to try this far but promises to stay though faces a stiff task.

Three wins between 1m4f and 2m last summer and although his form dropped off after, the break may have freshened him up and with his trainer in red-hot form a big run wouldn't surprise.

Forecasts

Collide (6/4), Clap Your Hands (6/1), Land Of Oz (13/2), Mondain (13/2), Cosmelli (9/1), Calling The Wind (11/1), Pianissimo (11/1), Kitaabaat (18/1), Battle Of Marathon (50/1)

Verdict

CLAP YOUR HANDS proved a revelation at Wolverhampton during the winter putting up some tremendous performances on the clock and although this is a really strong contest for the money on offer, he is taken to continue the winning record. Collide is worth another go at this trip and despite having to concede plenty of weight all around, is likely to be a threat with Pianissimo, another who was in excellent form when last seen, best of the rest.

  3. Pianissimo
