Half-sister to seven winner over 1m and upwards and showed enough in three runs as a juvenile to suggest she can win a race or two. Yard already had a winner since the return so may well be there or thereabouts on handicap bow.

Third here in 7f maiden in January and third again in simliar company at Kempton a month later. Another making handicap bow and the step up a furlong should prove within his compass.

Exceed and Excel filly who look green and backward in three starts last term. Showed a little promise and expected to do better now going handicapping but has a bit to prove and others make rather more appeal.

Stable companion of Summer Valley. Won Kempton mile nursery handicap off 1lb lower mark in November but failed to build on that in two subsequent starts. Has plenty of experience but there may be a few improvers to make life tough in this contest.

Half-sister to 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook but unplaced in three starts last term. Ran best race over C&D when unlucky-in-running fourth and may do better now moving into handicap company and appeals as a likely type.

Only win in 10 attempts came over extended mile at Wolverhampton in November off 5lb lower mark. Appears to have a bit to find on that evidence so needs to improve to figure.

Three runs last term at around 6f showing ability on a couple of occasions. Half-brother to Group 2 middle-distance winner so step up in trip on handicap bow is interesting. May need further though in due course but could be nicely handicapped.

Undergone gelding and wind operations this year following three runs as a juvenile when looked a little short of pace over 7f. Handicap bow but suspicion 1m2f may be more his trip later in the term.

€80,000 Showcasing gelding but didn't show very much for the money in three runs last campaign. May bo better now entering handicaps and yard off to a good start this week. Worth a market check.

Stable companion of Marie's Gem. Six race maiden but went very close when just edged out over extended mile in Wolverhampton handicap penultimate start. Likes to race up with the pace but may be vulnerable where it matters most.

Handicap bow following gelding operation but didn't show a huge amount in trhee starts in novice events. Others appeal as more likely contenders on evidence thus far.

Costello219
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: M Murphy| OR:  62

Best effort in four starts as a juvenile came when fourth in Chelmsford 7f novice stakes last September. Has been gelded during the winter and returns off 3lb lower than modest handicap debut effort at Kempton in October.

Forecasts

Motamayiz (6/4), Dartington (6/1), Golden Fountain (6/1), Good Time Charlie (9/1), Madame Peltier (11/1), Forge Valley Lad (16/1), Marie's Gem (16/1), Bruisa (20/1), Costello (20/1), Treaty Of Dingle (25/1), Summer Valley (40/1), Moondance (50/1)

Verdict

BRUISA, half-sister to 1000 Guineas heroine Billesdon Brook, will be worth plenty as a broodmare if able to get wininng brackets next to her name and could have been found the right opportunity on her handicap debut. She hinted at enough ability last term to win a race of this nature. Top weight Summer Valley is preferred to stable companion Moondance although both are worth a glance, while market confidence for Motamayiz would be a strong hint as he hails from a top yard. Marie's Gem may do best of the remainder.
  1. Bruisa
  2. Motamayiz
  3. Summer Valley
