Landed fine five-timer first half of last season but struggled after off higher marks. Usually needs a run or two to find her feet so appears to have tough task off top weight.
Six wins to his name but yet to score beyond 5.5f and wide draw unlikely to make task any easier. Starts campaign still 7lb higher than latest winner at Brighton last season.
Plenty of placed efforts but only win from 13 attempts came at Brighton 5.5f last September off 5lb lower mark. Expected to prove better for this return outing.
Yet to shine over this distance and all three career successes have come at minimum trip. Has twice won following a break though so no surprise to see him run with credit first time back.
Well into veteran stage and has 13 wins to his credit. Failed by just a neck to score in Kempton 6f claimer when last seen in October. Three starts here in the past but has never shone so will do well to make his presence felt.
Placed three times from seven starts and was fair second in Salisbury 6f h'cap on final start in September last year. Fitness has to be taken on trust but looks type who should win a race or two this term if things go his way.
Decent handicap form three years ago when with Simon Crisford winning three times at 5f. Very lightly raced recent years and showed little on first start for current yard at Kempton in March. Watching brief advised.
Stable companion of Discreet Hero. Dual C&D winner last winter, latter success coming in December off 4lb lower. Disappointed final outing at Wolverhampton. Clearly goes well here though but has never won first time following a break.
Underwent wind surgery in October following racecourse bow and duly ran well three starts since including victory on handicap bow over C&D in February. 3lb hgher now but still unexposed and is open to further improvement.
Placed a number of times at up to 7f for David Simcock but ran poorly last two starts for current yard and has a bit to prove at present. Dropping down the weights but is hard to enthuse over.
14lb lower than last win at Kempton 6f in July 2018 but has ran a number of fair races since without getting his head in front. Second at Southwell when last seen in March and may be thereabouts if things go his way.
Veteran who was in fine form this winter winning three of his last four starts including over C&D in January. Arguably still the right side of the handicapper if able to pick up where he left off and top AW jockey booked.
Forecasts
Equipped (7/2), Soldier's Son (9/2), Becker (5/1), Madrinho (11/2), Camachess (15/2), Englishman (11/1), Urban Highway (12/1), Desert Land (22/1), The Lacemaker (22/1), Big Time Maybe (28/1), Pettochside (40/1), Discreet Hero (66/1)
A number of old stagers here and veteran Englishman could go close if able to continue from where he left off in the winter. Preference though is for the unexposed filly EQUIPPED who won last time on just her fourth start and is open to improvement. Another four-year-old who may have a little more to give is Soldier's Son, still a maiden but expected to break his duck before too long, while Madrinho comes into the reckoning after showing fair from in March and may not be at all far away from the action where it counts. Becker tends to go well fresh and is another worthy of consideration.
- Equipped
- Becker
- Soldier's Son
