Lingfield novice winner (1m, Polytrack) last August, when with Archie Watson. Held both starts for this trainer last winter, when carrying a penalty. Feasibly treated for handicap debut and first run since being gelded. Interesting.

Showed early promise on turf last summer, and improved both when tried here and close second (7f) on handicap debut after a break, and again when comfortable scorer at Pontefract (1m, soft) in October. Up 7lb, but looks to have plenty going for her.

66-1 but much better than those odds suggested here on debut, when 5L second of 11 (7f). Improved when upped to 1m on Fibresand, making virtually all to score at Southwell in March. Should still be more to come and could again be a contender.

Made promising debut at Haydock (7f) 11-months ago. Beaten favourite next time, and also a little underwhelming at Beverley when last seen in August. Half-brother Arctic Fox a triple winner at three, so could improve now and not badly treated.

Shaped well enough when 33-1 and beaten 2¾L on Leicester debut last September (7f). Soft ground a possible excuse when held in third upped to 1m at Windsor on only subsequent run. Since gelded, in good hands and open to improvement now handicapping.

Dual 7f winner last autumn in handicaps, the more recent on Wolverhampton's Tapeta, when 2lb lower. Below par after a break when last seen at Chelmsford in March, but clearly can't be written off back up to 1m.

Sprang into life with wins on his first two nursery starts last autumn, the latter coming here (7f). Since gelded and returns from 7lb higher and up in trip. The latter looks positive, so another who enters calculations if ready first time.

Went close twice at Kempton (7f) before getting off the mark here over C&D in January, after a break. Held from today's mark back at Kempton when last seen in February. Not written off, but there are plenty of other less exposed opponents here.

Showed promise twice here on her first two outings (7f) last autumn but well held at Lingfield in December when upped to 1m. Will need to be back to the level of her debut to win from this mark on her first handicap start. Market check.

Showed little until scoring on his handicap debut at Kempton (7f) in October. Improved significantly on that to defy 3lb rise when upped to 1m at Chelmsford in November. Returns from a break seeking truncated hat-trick after 10lb rise. Interesting.

Forecasts

Idoapologise (5/1), Shoot To Win (5/1), Guipure (6/1), Bavardages (13/2), Lyricist Voice (13/2), Blausee (7/1), Time Voyage (11/1), Bottom Bay (12/1), Fraternity (12/1), Jalwan (16/1), Rosardo Senorita (20/1), Spantik (40/1)

Verdict

A very tough start to the card. Bavardages represents a top team but is up in class with a 10lb rise here, and there looks to be plenty to take him on with. The suggestion is IDOAPOLOGISE, who is also up 7lb, but looks open to further improvement now upped to 1m. Fraternity could begin to blossom at three and is also considered, as are Spantik, Guipure, Shoot To Win and Bottom Bay.
