Big prices on both his starts at Wolverhampton and now switches to Fibresand for the first time stepping back down to his original trip. Looks limited on eastly evidence; tongue-tie goes on for the first time; hard to make a case.
Hooded for his debut which comes at the belated age of four. Now gelded this ex-Goldolphin inmate (never ran for them) cost £5,500 in January. half-brother to 6f winner Fikhaar, dam unraced, market may give a better idea of expectations.
Previously with James Fanshawe for whom he posted two modest performances last year on Tapeta and Polytrack at up to 1m. Strong in the market when last seen he finished well held (spared a hard race); clearly though capable of better, Fibresand debut
Twice-raced filly who switches to Fibresand after going with little fluency on Polytrack last time when upped to this trip. Only just started he racing career rather belatedly and may have more to offer with some experience under her belt.
Two AW efforts at the backend of last year made her look only limited in terms of ability failing to beat a rival home on either occasion. Beaten in a seller last time and hope now pinned on a move back in trip and a chance of surface; little appeal.
There looked to be some promise in his debut effort at Newmarket (7f, soft) in October before he was upped in trip (1m) and switched to the AW (Polytrack). Only finished midfield but again showed ability; pedigree suggests Fibresand will suit.
Newcomer from a yard who traditionally bring this type along slowly. Half-brother to 1m2f winner California Lad, dam 1m2f winner out of useful US Grade 2 1½m winner Crockadore, best watched unless there are any positive market vibes.
Bred to be useful he so far shown little in two turf starts as a backend 2yo over 7f in testing conditions both times. Subsequently gelded he now makes his Fibresand debut (sire 6-61 here); could yet improve given time to mature.
Quickly switched to Fibresand after failing to live up to market expectations (started Evens favourite) but did show something to work on in that Newcastle debut (7f). No surprise if he leaves that form well behind; yard do well here.
There was some definite promise in her debut effort over 7f at Chelmsford where despite running wide she did manage to challenge the winner. Good performance to finish third (clear of rest of field); will improve, has a new surface to cope with.

Forecasts
Blackcastle Storm (11/8), Productive (5/2), Arafi (5/2), Shark (16/1), Majalaat (20/1), Cuckoo Clock (25/1), Bella Beauty (33/1), En Couleur (50/1), Lord Warburton (50/1), Go On My Cocker (100/1), Feleena's Spell (100/1)
None of these have run on this surface before and it may well be the market that supplies the clues with market leaders being the most prevalent winners of this although there was a 25-1 shock last year. Stall 1 hasn’t been kind over this trip this year and that could give Arafi a problem as she bids to build on her promising debut. Productive did plenty wrong on his debut and should know more this time but the pick goes the way of BLACKCASTLE STORM whose two runs last year look the best form on offer if he can transfer those performances onto the Fibresand. It won’t be a surprise to see Lord Warburton, Shark and 4yo Cuckoo Clock produce more this time around.
