Lightly-raced since landing a 1m Newcastle maiden as 2yo (final start that year). Not disgraced on his return after a three-month break last time over 1m2f; given some respite in the handicap (drops in grade); jockey booking takes the eye.

Hard to fault his form since the turn of the year winning three consecutive handicaps (two over 1m on Polytrack) off an increasing mark. Not seen to best effect when left poorly placed last time ending his winning spree; still looks in good heart.

Yet to show any spark for this yard in three starts looking a hard ride (pulls hard/carries head high). Did win last year off a 6lb higher mark for his former yard but hard to think he's capable of that sort of performance now.

Back from a break having failed to go on from his Polytrack/Fibresand hat-trick towards the end of last year when he looked an improved model. Would need to return at his peak to take a hand but that's not impossible to imagine him doing.

Fared no better for a wind op last time but he is falling rapidly in the weights and he's likely to pop somewhere along the line for a yard who do well rejuvenating this sort. Stays further than this 1m but worth heeding any positive market signals.

Showed some ability in a limited career with Own Burrows before arriving at this yard fir 30,000 guineas. Ran with credit on her handicap debut returned to 7f off this same mark looking as though 1m would suit her; in very capable hands.

Dual C&D winner off lower marks both times last year but was given a break when his consistent spell came to an end in December. Not disgraced on his return over this trip at Chelmsford, got going late after being slow away (not for the first time).

Forecasts

Mostawaa (9/4), Toro Dorado (5/2), Takeonefortheteam (5/1), Furqaan (6/1), Golden Wolf (8/1), Clipsham Tiger (12/1), Itsakindamagic (66/1)

Verdict

One or two that are of interest here led by FURQAAN who is likely to have plenty of progress left in her on what will be just her second handicap start. No match for the winner last time she looks as though she’ll be suited by this extra furlong having been left on the same mark by the handicapper. Toro Dorado was rather unlucky not to complete his four-timer when last seen failing to get the run of the race in a slowly-run Lingfield heat over 2f further, this test may suit better. Mostawaa with Oisin Murphy taking the ride has to be respected especially off this mark while Golden Wolf needs watching in the market on his second run back from a wind op.
