Definite promise on his debut for this yard on Tapeta and a return to that surface saw him well-backed to record his first win despite not looking the finished article. Promise of more to come under 5lb penalty but on a different surface now.
Been knocking at the door finishing runner-up on his last three starts and now has a career-record that reads 0-13. Ran with credit here over 6f last time; not hard to have reservations stepping up to a 1m (first try at this trip), 7f suits best.
Two-time course winner once over this trip both her career wins have come here. Tried at various trips since returning from a break without really looking a winner waiting to happen despite edging back down the weights.
A scorer over 1m1f for Henry Candy last summer at Yarmouth she changed hands for 17,000 guineas in December. Yet to show much spark for this yard in two unplaced efforts including behind Latent Talent latest; wide draw makes her task difficult.
Sent off a very short-priced favourite (5-4) off the back of a six-month break having won over the same C&D on his return in 2019. Ran as though he needed the outing this time; may have come on for that, needs a good gallop over this 1m trip.
Course winner over 6f he seems able to adapt to a variety of surfaces and returns to his last winning mark under his regular pilot (Isobel Francis). Overall his form looks rather uneven but could play a part on a going day with cheekpieces back on.
Off the mark on her first run for this yard (stable do well with new recruits) having been well backed over 7f here looking as though this trip will suit in future. Ran poorly last time on Fibresand (didn't take to surface); worth another chance.
May not have been the easiest to train although his latest performance at Wolverhampton suggested there was a race of this nature in him. Looked stretched by the extended 1m1f trip (travelled well for much of the trip); Polytrack debut, interesting.
Little to get excited about in his four starts for this yard having been picked up for £15,500 from Gordon Elliott's where he showed some ability early on. Hard to make much of case especially on the back of a dismal run over C&D last time.
Makes his debut for this yard bit off a mammoth absence with just one career win to his name on the Wolverhampton Tapeta back in 2017. Would be hard to recommend on the basis of the evidence so far; best watched.

Two stables supply almost half the field with Tony Carroll fielding three candidates and Mick Appleby two. It’s probably the former of those two yards that holds the stronger hand with Carroll looking to see if his Wolverhampton winner Latent Heat can carry his penalty. He’s sure to give it a good go but it remains to be seen if he can produce his best away from Tapeta. Fly The Nest from the same yard has been knocking on the door and must be respected whilst Appleby’s best chance lies with My Law who needs to bounce back. FOX SHINJI is highlighted though given his previous run at Wolverhampton where he travelled well for much of the race looking as though a return to 1m would suit ideally.
- Fox Shinji
- Latent Heat
- My Law
