1m6f Group 3 winner at York last year, he wasn't disgraced in eighth when last seen in the Caulfield Cup (1m4f) in October. Won small field AW conditions races on his return for the last two years and whilst this is trickier, cannot be ruled out.

Given a new lease of life trying staying trips last year, winning four times including at the Shergar Cup and Ebor Festival. Likeable sort but may find the competition too hot in a good quality race for the time of year.

Dual-Listed winner who was placed in Group company last year. Back to winning ways at Lingfield (2m) last time, drawing clear by 5½L to win well. Will make a bold bid from the front to follow-up.

Last three wins have come in small field conditions races, two of which were over 1m6f. Plenty of solid form in Group/Listed company over the years and is the one to beat with this trip always having looked like it would suit.

Forecasts

Mildenberger (1/1), Weekender (1/1), Red Verdon (11/1), Eddystone Rock (25/1)

Verdict

A fantastic feature race with three of the four solid performers in Group races. Red Verdon, Mildenberger and WEEKENDER have all got form in small field conditions races and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the tactical nature of the race. Mildenberger is likely to go from the front and make all but preference is for the last named, as Frankie Dettori will be aware of the possibilities on a horse who has won twice here in similar events before. Should be a cracker.
