Six-time turf winner who is 0-5 on AW. Was in decent form when last seen on turf in October, and now returns from a break and wind surgery. Probably best watched, given her AW record.
Triple course winner over 5f/6f. Still 2lb higher than the most recent of those, last April. Not in quite such good form of late, but still good enough to give him a chance from this mark.
Prolific turf winner who is 0-7 on AW, and has yet to make the frame on it. Well beaten again here last time, and plenty to prove despite being on a mark that would make him a player on turf.
C&D winner of a novice event last September. Has gone close twice since here, either side of being gelded. Has now had a wind operation since his last run and he looks a big player from the same mark.
Multiple C&D winner who has also won here over 6f. 6lb lower now than her last success, which came last April. Has been unable to take a couple of opportunities in recent starts, but fully entitled to each-way consideration. Visor goes on.
3-49 on turf, but unplaced in eight attempts on AW surfaces. Had wind surgery prior to his latest run, but well held there and plenty to prove.
Multiple AW winner, including three times over C&D. Latest of those came last time out, when having 2L to spare over her field. Up 5lb for that, which looks fair enough on the bare form, and may still have enough up her sleeve to follow up. Player.
Yet to break his maiden, but placed in five of his 11 starts, and has been beaten just ¾L on his last two starts, here over C&D and then more recently in a 6f Southwell claimer. Should again be very competitive.
Scored over C&D in 2018, when 10lb higher. Doesn't look to have been the easiest to train in the past year or so, and has certainly struggled to produce anything like that sort of form. Last of 14 on his recent reappearance. Can only watch.
C&D scorer in a novice event in 2018. Has since won a handicap at Southwell over this trip, when 9lb lower. Sliding in the weights. New headgear combination now fitted and top pilot booked, but not easy to see a win based solely on recent form.
Improved with a decent effort on her second start in a fillies' novice event at Pontefract last spring. Held and last of five on recent Southwell reappearance. On a handy mark if she acts here on her handicap debut. Market check.
5f turf winner last year (good), when on a mark of 56, and went close next time after a 5lb rise. Badly out of sorts on his last two starts of the season, however, and record suggests he will need this after a break.
Back on the same mark as when scoring here over C&D in November. Has proved he remains competitive from it too, if recent form is anything to go by. Strike rate not great, but would very much merit each-way consideration.
Forecasts
Gowanbuster (3/1), Klopp (7/2), Buniann (9/2), Kyllachy Warrior (7/1), Oriental Lilly (17/2), Qaaraat (10/1), Quench Dolly (12/1), Eternal Sun (18/1), Rumshak (25/1), Gamesome (28/1), Tomahawk Ridge (50/1), Northern Queen (80/1), Desert Ace (100/1)
More moderate fayre and BUNIANN, one of three in the field for trainer Paul Midgley, looks worth siding with, given his relatively unexposed profile. Gowanbuster should be competitive, while Northern Queen looks worth checking in the market ahead of his handicap debut. Oriental Lily, Qaaraat, Klopp and Kyllachy Warrior are others who should be thereabouts.
- Buniann
- Oriental Lilly
- Klopp
