Returning from wind surgery when finishing a good fourth in a novice hurdle over an extended 2m at Doncaster (soft) last month. Notable runner with tongue tie worn for the first time that day retained on handicap debut.
Victorious on heavy ground in a novice hurdle over 2m at Uttoxeter in November and represents a top yard upped in trip on handicap debut having been given a break since finishing fourth over an extended 1m7f at Leicester (heavy) the following month.
Returning from a break when beaten a head in a heavy ground handicap hurdle over an extended 2m here last month. Drop in grade appeared to suit that day and he is interesting back up in distance.
Winning for the third time when successful by a neck in a soft ground handicap hurdle over 2m at Warwick last time out. Raised 4lb for that success and is worth a check in the market with a leading conditional jockey on board once more.
Impressive 19L winner of a maiden hurdle over an extended 2m3f at Lingfield (heavy) on his penultimate start. Drops in class following a heavy defeat over an extended 2m3f on handicap debut at Huntingdon (good-to-soft) earlier this month.
Disappointing in four starts since finishing 6L second over an extended 2m4f at Southwell (soft) in October including when 33L seventh in an eight runner event at Ludlow (2m5f, soft) earlier this month on her first start since wind surgery.
Placed on each of his last four starts most recently when 10½L third over 2m4f on handicap debut at Sandown (heavy) at the start of this month. Market support would be notable racing off the same mark in this contest.
Showed promise when 15L sixth in a novice hurdle over an extended 2m at Bangor (good) on debut in October 2018. Disappointing thereafter and no surprise if he leaves that form well behind upped in trip on handicap debut following an absence.
Failed to figure when 58L seventh of eight in a 2m handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (heavy) earlier this month when returning from a break. Has run well over this trip in the past but others appear to hold stronger claims at present.
Dual winner over an extended 2m3f at Chepstow last spring but has finished held in all four starts this campaign and is probably best watched off a mark 5lb higher than for his most recent victory with a tongue tie tried for the first in this event.
Put a slightly disappointing effort behind him when finishing 2L fourth in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Market Rasen (good-to-soft) earlier this month. Interesting contender with drop in distance a positive.
Finished fourth on his two most recent outings including when 16L fourth over 2m at Ludlow (soft) last month. Worth a check in the market stepping back up in trip on handicap debut for a stable with an 18% strike-rate (2/11) in recent weeks.
Making his handicap debut and first start following a break when finishing a good second in a 2m5f event at Kempton (good-to-soft) earlier this month. Raised 3lb for that effort and is one for the shortlist in this contest.
Pulled up on three of his four starts since joining this stable including over an extended 2m3f at Chepstow (heavy) just under a month ago. Well handicapped on his old form but others make more appeal on this occasion.
Forecasts
Iconic Muddle (11/4), Flight Deck (11/2), Mon Palois (6/1), Pemberley (8/1), Le Grand Fromage (17/2), Alnadam (12/1), Certainly Red (12/1), Espalion (12/1), Eau Top (16/1), Jaisalmer (20/1), Cristal Spirit (22/1), The Kings Baby (50/1), So Lonely (125/1), Alcock And Brown (150/1)
PEMBERLEY should appreciate this drop back in trip and following a good run over further last time out he can register his second victory of the season in the opening conditional jockeys' event. The selection is taken to get the better of Mon Palois who was narrowly beaten here last time out and is tackling this distance for the first time while third place can go to Jaisalmer who was a winner on his most recent start.
- Pemberley
- Mon Palois
- Jaisalmer
