No stamina fears having won over 3m3f at Sedgefield last season but has run poorly al four outings since then. Eased to 3lb lower than last success but has plenty to prove on current evidence.
Fourth over C&D in December but both career wins have come at around 2m4f. 1lb lower than third over 2m5f at Sedgefield latest where led until headed final flight. Jockey 5-24 riding for this trainer.
Maiden point winner who hasn't looked anything special in four starts so far over hurdles. Did a little better latest though when fifth in handicap at Doncaster 3m and not without a chance here off 2lb lower if handling much softer ground.
Thorough stayer who won over C&D 14 months ago off 18lb higher mark. Goes well on heavy ground but had shown little this term prior to much better effort at Carlisle last time. Fair prospects if able to back that run up here off eight-day break.
Handles testing ground but yet to prove he stays beyond 2m4f. Poor effort at that trip at Doncaster latest having previously finished second over 2m at Ayr. Stamina has to be a big concern.
Showed only modest form in three maiden hurdles but stepped up in trip to score last time on handicap bow at Huntingdon 3m1f. Appreciated decent ground that day so heavy going here a concern, but still looks a danger despite 10lb rise.
Stayed on well to score over C&D on New Year's Day and good second back here last time off 5lb higher. Raised 1lb more but appears to like this track and remains in good heart so another bold show anticipated
Stays 3m and has won on soft ground in the past. Returns for first start since wind surgery having struggled most recent outings this term. Has a bit to prove on recent evidence despite 3lb lower mark.
Veteran mare whose two career wins have come at up to 2m. Handles testing ground and ran best race for some tiome penultimate start over C&D when second off 2lb lower mark. More needed.
Forecasts
The Composeur (6/4), Eclair On Line (4/1), Too Many Chiefs (9/2), Mamoo (7/1), Sweet Vinetta (8/1), Georgian Firebird (16/1), Border Victor (22/1), Bulls Head (25/1), Katy Royal (66/1)
TOO MANY CHIEFS has won over C&D in the past and handles the expected conditions. He showed signs of a return to form when fourth at Carlisle last week and is potentially well handicapped if back to close to his best. The Composeur could easily be better than his current mark having won with something in hand on his first try at this trip at Huntingdon last time. He looks a big danger if he handles the much softer ground. Mamoo has run well here of late and is likely to give another good account of himself on this sharper circuit, while Sweet Vinetta may come out best of the rest in a race where stamina will be very much at a premium.
- Too Many Chiefs
- The Composeur
- Mamoo
