Once-raced as a 2yo on Tapeta over an extended mile and showed plenty of promise on his debut (held back by inexperience) to take a remote third (beaten 8L). Returns from a fair absence but in good hands; expected to show more this time up in trip.

Well-backed at long odds on his debut here over 1m2f looking to know his job despite missing a beat at the start. Not given the most efficient ride (made rapid headway at one point), will know more this time with the extra 2f looking to suit.

Given a considerate introduction over 1m at Chelmsford prior to attracting support on her next start also over the same trip gaining experience around this track. Well-bred sort who should be particularly well suited to this trip; leading player.

Held back by inexperience on her debut over 1m2f here (sole 2yo run) she showed a little more last time when upped to today's trip. For all that she has yet to beat a rival and looks the sort to do better in handicaps after this qualifying run.

In two starts this year she's very much looked one for the longer-term struggling to show much short-term potential over shorter trips. Takes a significant rise in distance here (4f) but hard to make a case on the evidence so far.
Has an appealing pedigree and given what's she shown in her first two starts it looks as though she may well live up to it. Better for her debut run she returned to Wolverhampton last time producing an improved effort; should enjoy this trip.

Verdict

Three or four of this field have already shown themselves good enough to win a race of this nature and last year’s winning trainer John Gosden saddles AGREED who ran here over 1m last time and ought to enjoy this more testing trip. Vega’s Angel is another taking a significant rise in distance but like the selection she is well-bred and should enjoy this stamina test. Kommodity Kid made a positive start to his career here last time and he can’t be ruled out after a promising second. The Mark Johnston yard are frequent visitors to this venue and his once-raced Dark Heart looks a likely improver after just one run as a 2yo although he may have run into a couple of useful fillies in this.
  1. Agreed
  2. Vega's Angel
  3. Kommodity Kid
