Horse A-Z
€22,000 yearling. Sister to two winners over 7f-1m2f; half-sister to four winners, largely over middle distances. Runner-up in two of her three bumpers at Wetherby (1m4½f, soft) and here (2m½f, slow). Trip maybe on the sharp side but is respected.

Half-sister to winners Footlight (7f-1m3f) and Line House (7f); dam 7f/1m1f winner. 40/1 on debut over C&D last month when sixth of 10, beaten 5L. Should improve for the experience but big step forward needed to get off the mark.

12th foal; half-sister to six winners between 5f and 1m; dam 6f winner, half-sister to Irish 1,000 winner Gossamer and Irish 2,000/BC Mile winner Barathea. Yard not renowned for winning newcomers but worth market check given her decent pedigree.
€100,000 yearling; fifth foal; sister to 1m course winner Aegeus, half-sister to 1m-1m5½f Grade 3 winner Postulation; dam Group-placed 7f winner. Yard can ready one and are in flying form this year in GB (4-9). One for the shortlist.

Anjaal filly (38,000 gns yearling); half-sister to six winners; produced similar midfield finishes on both starts on turf (6f-1m) late last season; switches to Tapeta off a 157-day absence; may be seen to better effect once handicapping.

130,000 gns Kodiac filly; failed to beat rival on debut at Wolverhampton (7f) last month but took a step forward when fifth of 12, beaten 5¼L, at Kempton (1m) 17 days ago. Further improvement required but in very good hands.

Newcomer by Dark Angel. Cost €35,000 as a yearling. Related to winners over 1m/1m2f. Sent off at 66/1 when beaten 14½L over 6f here in December. Should improve for that effort but will need to.

Failed to progress from a promising debut and has been beaten favourite/joint-favourite on all four starts. Sets the form standard and yard are in flying form but is becoming a frustrating filly who may be vulnerable once again.

100/1
Helmet filly who was 200/1 on debut at Wolverhampton (6f) in November; she finished eighth of 12, beaten 12L. Yard only 3/134 since 2016 and others readily preferred.

Tenth foal; half-sister to five winners between 5f and 1m2f, of which Little Jo is the best. Yards newcomers tend to improve for the experience and may well be suited by further in time.

20/1
Iffraaj filly. Out of a mare who only won a 1m maiden but has produced three-time winner Zymyram and two-time scorer Zamandas. Beaten 12L into sixth on C&D debut in October and will need a jolt of improvement to trouble the principals here.

Forecasts

Rideson (10/11), Defence Girl (11/8), Manaabit (9/1), Betushka (14/1), Quiet Night (18/1), Zere (20/1), Red Dragoness (40/1), Lady Latte (66/1), Chenille (66/1), Stand Free (100/1), Tele Coed (150/1)

Verdict

Rideson undoubtedly sets the standard after four starts so far for a leading yard but doesn't seem to be improving so is worth taking on with newcomer DEFENCE GIRL. Her trainer has plenty of first-time out winners and are in good form at the moment. She also is related to a C&D winner. Of the others, Manaabit represents another top team and she improved notably last time.

  3. Manaabit
