Without doubt the one to beat on official ratings. Not seen since finishing third behind Blue Point in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. Goes well fresh though so absence isn't a worry. Should make winning seasonal return.
On a career-high mark, and although he did finish runner-up in a 'Listed' race two starts ago, he failed to back that up when only sixth of seven next time out. Up against seasoned pros in this grade, and can be ruled out quickly.
Three-time C&D winner who was only fourth when pitched into a 'Listed' contest over C&D last time out. Did win in this grade prior to that though, but this race looks considerably stronger on paper.
Tremendously consistent sort and was only narrowly denied when third of five in a conditions race at Kempton (6f; standard to slow) last month. Should be the one to give Kachy a race receiving a fair chunk of weight.
C&D winner in December who ran to a solid level when third in a 'Listed' contest over C&D at the start of the month. This is a drop in class officially, and his record on the AW reads a respectable 3-9.
Has won 50% of his races on the AW and holds a likeable profile. Got back on track with a solid effort in defeat when second over C&D last month, but this requires another step up. Evidently improving though.
C&D winner who has been turned over at short-odds the last twice. Still 7lb above last winning mark, and despite being lightly raced he is yet to win in a higher grade than a class 4. Therefore has something to prove.
Forecasts
Kachy (5/6), Mohareb (4/1), Harry's Bar (5/1), Lady Dancealot (14/1), Total Commitment (16/1), Merhoob (20/1), Tinto (20/1)
Racegoers are finally able to get a glimpse of the enigmatic KACHY as he makes his eagerly anticipated return to the track having been off for 238 days since finishing third in the Group One Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot. Given he goes well fresh his absence is of no concern, & this four-time C&D winner can dispose of his rivals with ease before moving onto loftier assignments. They are playing for places in behind but Harry's Bar was placed in a decent contest at Kempton last time out. He should prove best of the rest ahead of Lady Dancealot who achieved a similar level of form when third in 'Listed' company over C&D when last seen.
- Kachy
- Harry's Bar
- Lady Dancealot
