Three-time course winner over 5f with all those wins coming recently thriving for a yard that have started the year well. Successful over 6f on turf he's 0-4 over the trip on Fibresand; below par over this C&D last time, now down in grade.

8/11
Four-time C&D winner who has been in sparkling form of late making all last time to record a career-best. 3lb well-in under his penalty he should be able to make a bold bid for a hat-trick despite the rise in grade; goes well for Ben Curtis.

Consistent sort on the Aw since coming back from a break winning twice here over7f/1m, his last success here his third overall. Ran well last time away from the Fibresand over 7f; has won over 6f but these may be a little too sharp for him now.

Could go around here blindfold having run here 35 times with five course wins to his name although only one of those victories has come at this trip. Slow away (not unusual) when last tried at this trip he'll need to be at his best to win this.

Forecasts

Sandridge Lad (8/11), Robero (2/1), Zapper Cass (7/1), Samovar (20/1)

Verdict

No doubts about any of this quartet acting on this surface as they have 15 course wins beaten them. It’s hard to ignore the claims of SANDRIDGE LAD in this despite the rise in class he’s still 3lb well-in under his penalty and he’s got every chance of completing a C&D hat-trick. Robero is a consistent sort with three course wins to his name but he’s yet to claim a prize here over this trip and the chances are that it could be too sharp for him these days. Zapper Cass needs to bounce back but the ease in grade will ease his task and its hard to ignore anything from his yard. Samovar deserves a mention but he’s generally better over 5f here and this 6f in this company will stretch him.
  1. Sandridge Lad
  2. Zapper Cass
  3. Robero
