Not the easiest to predict just now but did end a run of poor form with a near miss in this grade at Wolverhampton last month and would have place claims once more if able to run to a similar level. Risk attached.
Got off the mark at the tenth attempt with a sweeping run at Lingfield last month but wasn't so effective back here last time out. Possible he ran too keenly to get home that day and can do better if ridden with more restraint; can go close again.
Generally lost his way since winning three on the spin in the first half of last year but his handicap mark is starting to look appealing. Needs to start producing on the course, however, and there is a suspicion that 1m might be his optimum trip.
In good form since joining his current yard and is notably effective on the Polytrack; also encouraging that he went close over C&D last time out. Currently 1lb below his last winning mark and can be thereabouts once more with another step forward.
Highly tried over the years but sights now being lowered as his handicap mark drops accordingly. Dangerous to rule out even though he's yet to strike since joining his current yard (only 1-17 on the AW).
Plenty of ability and has a hatful of placed efforts to his name. Winning has been an elusive goal, however, and he's had little notable success since November 2017. Suited by C&D but not one for maximum faith.
Has decent form at most of the AW courses even though Wolverhampton seems to be his preferred surface. He's been placed on the Polytrack here before and arrives in good heart. No surprise to see him go close.
Attractively weighted and made a pleasing start for his new trainer when running on strongly to finish third at Lingfield last month. Up in trip but stayed 7f with few issues before now; Kempton debut but solid claims if taking to the lay out.
Not many miles on the clock but is 0-9 so far and yet to be at his best on a synthetic surface (0-2); might have needed the run when last of five at Lingfield in early January but still needs a big improvement to figure prominently this time.
Hasnt stood much racing lately and made little impact in three starts for his current yard (also runs Apex King). Dangerously well handicapped but still has a lot to prove at present.
Forecasts
Kamra (9/4), Brigham Young (7/2), Bobby Wheeler (5/1), Desert Land (8/1), Atletico (9/1), Nezar (10/1), Apex King (12/1), Gossiping (22/1), Waqaas (66/1), Mykindofsunshine (100/1)
NEZAR has been in good form and is fancied to gain an overdue first win on Polytrack. Brigham Young and Kamra are a couple of others with similar profiles and won't make it easy for the selection, while Desert Land is on a handy mark and comes here after making a pleasing start for his new trainer when third of ten at Lingfield last month; he'll be in the mix again if he's in the same form now he's faced with an extra furlong.
- Nezar
- Brigham Young
- Kamra
