Hat-trick bid was foiled last time out when he was a 19-length second at Uttoxeter (2m7f; heavy) in atrocious conditions. Been raised 9lb since then, and his yard are out of form. Not fully exposed, but looks vulnerable.
Got off the mark at the seventh attempt over hurdles when winning by a head at Uttoxeter (2m7f; heavy) on New Year's Eve. 7lb higher mark to contend with as he returns to handicap company, but there was a 23-length gap back to the third.
Suffered a reverse in form with Mercian Knight who outstayed him at Doncaster (3m; good to soft) last month. Shown more than enough in novice company to suggest he can enjoy plenty of success in handicaps. Opening mark seems fair enough.
Not progressed in handicaps as one would have expected. This is a slight ease in grade, after she suffered a heavy reverse at Kempton (3m; soft) last month. Been in quiet form for a while now, so looks one to oppose.
14-race maiden, and he was virtually tailed-off over fences at Ffos Las (3m1f; heavy) last month. Has first hurdles start since November 2018, and is up against a band of in-form rivals. Best watched with that in mind.
Shed her maiden tag at Ascot (2m7f; heavy) last time out, and the form of that race has since been franked by the runner-up. Up 7lb after that career-best effort, and pitched into a class three for the first time. Unexposed so has claims.
Forecasts
Flowing Cadenza (2/1), Golden Sovereign (11/4), Terrierman (3/1), Good And Hardy (11/2), Shantung (10/1), Frankly Speaking (40/1)
Flowing Cadenza is upped slightly in grade after posting a career-best last time out. That form can be upgraded with the runner-up winning on Monday, and she receives weight from all five of her rivals. Things finally clicked for Golden Sovereign when he finally shed his maiden status when drawing nearly 25-length clear of the third when getting into a battle with eventual runner-up. He is respected returned to handicap company, but preference is for TERRIERMAN who is lightly raced and has shown more than enough promise in a trio of decent novice contests to suggest he can add to his yard's 22% strike-rate here and make a seamless transition to the handicap ranks.
