Won off a 2lb lower turf mark at Musselburgh over this trip when with Iain Jardine but ran too free to be effective on her debut for this yard over 6f at Newcastle. First run here, possibility she will strip fitter now, not ruled out of this.
Lightly-raced last year gaining a win after a 22-month absence at Southwell in September. Clearly difficult to train she's only been seen twice since, caught close home at Southwell last time; chance if she acts on this surface.
Not won since early last year but looks as though he may be reaching his peak again having been unlucky last time out at Lingfield (had to wait for a run). Slipped below his last winning mark he should make his presence felt despite a wide draw.
Looks in good heart of late but as you could deduce from a career-record of 2-41 he also has the ability to frustrate. Not seen to best effect over 6f here having thrown away a good chance of winning the time before (found little); comes with risks.
Not the most consistent of sorts of late with his most recent win over 6f at Chelmsford coming via a career-low mark. Hasn't been able to reproduce that form in three starts since and hard to muster much enthusiasm for his chance.
Now back with one of his former yards having shown improved form for Mick Appleby on his final start for that yard over 5f at Southwell. Not in the same form in two starts since re-joining this yard; has to show more before being worth supporting.
Not disgraced over 6f at Southwell last time with the cheekpieces back on after a short break although he's yet to really fire for this yard. Sole win came over 6f and despite the falling mark he doesn't really look the sort to take advantage.
Akin to a few in this line-up he's on a long losing sequence having clocked up 16 starts since his last win. Looks out of sorts of late finishing well beaten in his last three C&D outings; others make a more persuasive case.
C&D winner who has just had wind surgery having run well below form in all her starts for this yard since arriving from Simon Crisford. Can be slow away it remains to be seen if the wind op makes a difference although the draw is a tough one.
Hasn't won since June 2017 and has only recently been switched to the AW although that transition hasn't proved to make any difference to her tepid form. Ran very tamely last time dropping out quickly and makes limited appeal.
Yet to win a race but has marginally less question marks about him than some of these. Ran well in a first-time tongue-tie over 6f at Lingfield last time looking to be a speedy sort; well worth a try over this 5f, very much of interest.
Forecasts
Eesha Says (4/1), Fareeq (9/2), Mansfield (5/1), Guardia Svizzera (11/2), Illustrious Spirit (8/1), Murqaab (10/1), Autumn Splendour (12/1), Filbert Street (18/1), Super Florence (20/1), Hanati (28/1), Edged Out (40/1)
Quite a few that it would be hard to make a case for here but one or two do hold some interest. Perhaps the one to place at the top of that list is ILLUSTRIOUS SPIRIT who connections might have finally worked out what he wants and that’s a test of speed. Ran well last time out at Lingfield and well worth a try over 5f here. Eesha Says has been in good form on the Fibresand but still has to prove herself here and it’s Fareeq who looks the bigger danger if he can overcome a wide draw. Mansfield is sure to run his usual sound race but does always look to be wanting in a finish while Super Florence should fare batter having had an outing.
- Illustrious Spirit
- Fareeq
- Mansfield
