Sole winner in the field for which he is penalised for. That success came at this track over 6f, and he wasn't disgraced when a staying-on fourth at Lingfield (7f; standard) recently. Should make bold bid to regain the winning thread.
Still looked to be showing signs of greenness when hanging late on despite finishing third at Wolverhampton (7f; standard). Looks as though he could get involved on that evidence. However, stable have not had a winner for three weeks.
Siyouni colt whose dam was a winner over this trip on the AW and at 'Listed' level. Looks like a nice type on paper, and it would be notable if the market spoke positively in favour of him in what looks a winnable race.
Difficult to assess given he was only 13th on debut in a typically competitive Newbury (6f; heavy) maiden at the end of October. Watching brief advised with him as he makes his return from a short break.
Not completely disgraced despite only finishing sixth at Wolverhampton (7f; standard) last month, which was a definite step forward from what was a low-key debut effort. Could run into a place if building on that.
Never got involved at any stage of the race on debut at Lingfield (7f; standard) last month. Impossible to fancy on that evidence, and so he is ruled out with confidence until offering more encouragement.
Shown minor ability on both starts to date at Chelmsford (7f; standard). Likely to finish in midfield again in this contest. Qualifies for a mark to go handicapping with after this run, and that looks to be where his future lies.
Progressed from debut effort when a narrow second over 1m here in October. Not seen since, and looked as though he would be suited by a step up in trip then. Thus, the drop back to 7f is a slight negative but he still has a big chance.
Showed zero improvement for the change of yards when suffering another heavy defeat at Lingfield (7f; standard) last month. Impossible to fancy on what she has shown so far, and she is readily opposed.
Outran odds of 33-1 on debut when runner-up at Wolverhampton (6f; standard) recently to a rival with experience. Looks to hold solid place claims at the very least in what looks a weak race on paper.
Forecasts
Brunel Charm (7/4), Stanford (11/4), Dartington (13/2), Bayar (8/1), Mountain Brave (10/1), Lethal Shadow (20/1), Egypsyan Crackajak (20/1), Note Bleu (40/1), Seventeen O Four (40/1), Brazen Sheila (66/1)
Given this race doesn't look the strongest on paper, Dartington will be of interest if the market speaks in favour of him. Mountain Brave ran better than was expected on debut and has solid place claims as she steps up to 7f after bumping into a rival who had previous experience to his name. Preference is for BRUNEL CHARM who made a winning debut over 6f at this track and shaped encouragingly when stepped up to 7f last time out. The return to this track is an added bonus and he can return to winning ways. Despite Stanford not looking as though he wants dropped in trip, he has shown more than enough on both starts at this track to suggest he can figure prominently.
- Brunel Charm
- Stanford
- Mountain Brave
