Lightly-raced sort whose had a couple of runs on Fibresand one of them in a nursery (6f) although he failed to repeat his first handicap run on that occasion. Kept to this surface but dropped back to 5f; this looks an easier assignment.

Yet to run away from this track but hasn't as yet shown much in terms of ability with her best run coming on her second start over 6f. Now makes her handicap debut having run poorly on her first try at this trip last time (slow away).

Qualified for his handicap mark with a second at this track in a 6f maiden although that's only modest form. Events haven't really worked out in two handicaps so far and he may be better than he's shown; cheekpieces now on for the first-time.

Yet to win a race and makes her handicap debut for her new yard having been sold for £3,800. This will be her first taste of Fibresand and she looks fully exposed now and vulnerable to any improvers in this field.

Ran a reasonable race returning from a break when given a stiff task on her only previous experience on Fibresand over 5f. Didn't run too badly back in a handicap last time again over 5f but needs to show more to be competitive.

Handicap/Fibresand newcomer who has given the impression that he will have more to give when he gets into this sphere. Travelled well when last seen at Chelmsford over 6f; drops to 5f for the first time, certainly one to keep an eye on in the market.

Showed his first form in a nursery on handicap debut over 5f at Wolverhampton in October but not seen since. Dropped 1lb for that effort he comes from a useful family and he needs to be respected on his Fibresand debut; cheekpieces on first-time.

Headgear worn for her disappointing handicap debut is now removed having not really shown much progression through her qualifying runs. Didn't fare that well on her one previous start over C&D; off a lowly mark but still something to prove.

Poor form overall with neither of her runs here including the latest on handicap debut over 6f impressing. Drops to 5f for her second try in a handicap but looks to face an uphill task even off a basement mark.

Forecasts

Navajo Dawn (7/2), Mews House (4/1), Casaruan (4/1), Qinwan (7/1), Alex Gracie (8/1), Glamorous Force (8/1), Quiet Word (10/1), Merchants Breath (12/1), Queen Of Rock (16/1), Microscopic (20/1)

Verdict

An intriguing nursery with little sound Fibresand form to go on and there may well be one or two that have been let in lightly. GLAMOROUS FORCE could well be amongst that group on his Fibresand debut as he starts his handicap career at the right end of the weights and the first-time cheekpieces may provide some more spark. Casaruan is from a stable that can never be underestimated around here and he’s shaped well in his qualifying efforts. Qinwan and Merchants Breath are two runners that look as though they could be better than their current marks and it won’t surprise to see them outrun their odds. Mews House and Quiet Word are a couple of others to enter calculations.
  1. Glamorous Force
  2. Merchants Breath
  3. Qinwan
