Black Sam Bellamy filly. Full-sister to 2m hurdle winner Deadringerforlove. More excitingly, she is a half-sister to Gold Cup winner Sizing John. Stable are known to have winning newcomers, and this one looks to hold strong claims.
Four-year-old filly by Jeremy. Half-sister to Maeve's Choice who was a hurdle winner over 2m4f-2m6f. Watching brief advised for trainer whose first bumper runner was tailed-off at Sedgefield on Boxing Day.
Posted a highly promising effort on debut when third at Southwell (2m; soft) behind a winner who had experience in point-to-points. Yard are in-form and he showed a good attitude to almost grab second that day. Will have learnt a lot.
Newcomer who represents respected connections. By Kapgarde and cost €25,000 as a yearling. Market check advised for stable who hold an eye-catching 23% strike-rate at this course.
By Yeats who has bumper winners. Cost €12,000 as a three-year-old and won a point-to-point at Liscarroll (3m; yielding to soft) easily in March. Interesting contender who has to feature high on the shortlist.
Distant second on rules debut to a potentially above-average sort (sent off 1/5f) at Bangor-On-Dee (2m; heavy) recently. This looks a bit more competitive but she has place claims.
Newcomer by Kapgarde. Cost £20,000 as a yearling and is a half-sister to five winners including the smart Brindisi Breeze. Top stable in good form at present (same connections had a winner on Sunday). Not renowned for having bumper winners though.
There was a lot to like about his debut effort at Bangor-On-Dee (2m; good) in April when he finished runner-up behind a nice type. Proved to be hugely underwhelming when only seventh at Ffos Las (2m; soft) last month though. Something to prove.
Forecasts
Forthegreatergood (15/8), Bourbon Beauty (3/1), Eleanor Grove (4/1), La Reine Poutine (13/2), Anythingforlove (10/1), Poniente (14/1), Blue Hawaii (20/1), Isthebaropen (50/1)
A concluding bumper which has a pretty open look to it. Isthebaropen was firmly put in her place by the exciting Chuvelo on debut at Bangor. With that experience under her belt, she should be able to finish thereabouts in this contest. Eleanor Grove is an interesting newcomer with the champion jockey booked for a stable who always do well in bumpers at this track. However, preference is for ANYTHINGFORLOVE who is a half-sister to the high-class Gold Cup winner Sizing John. Her yard are known to have winning newcomers and this daughter of Black Sam Bellamy can make a winning racecourse debut.
- Anythingforlove
- Eleanor Grove
