C&D winner who is 5lb lower than that success gained in February 2018. Has struggled to make a serious impact in any of his five starts in 2019. Drops in grade here, so churlish to write him off, especially with a good draw.

Unexposed gelding who scored at Chelmsford in October, before following up here (both 6f) last month. Has twice gone close on Tapeta since, but still going the right way, well drawn, and looks a contender again.

Turf winner over this trip in 2016, but no win since and 0-7 on AW. Not seen since July, but should have the ability to get involved if able to overcome the worst of the draw.

Has won on turf at this venue, his sole AW win coming on Newcastle's Tapeta last year. Well held on his last two Polytrack outings and others hold more obvious claims.

Has twice finished second here, so no issues with the track. Arrives on the back of three very respectable efforts from this mark, but clearly needs to pull out more to win again, and the draw hasn't been kind.

Dual Tapeta winner, scoring at Wolverhampton for a second time over 7f last time out, on his first start since being gelded. Up 4lb for that career-best, but unexposed, nicely drawn and should go very close to a repeat.

Dual Polytrack winner at Kempton and stepped up on previous efforts with the more recent of those, which was a ready win (7f) when 5lb lower last month. Looks very likely to be a contender again if as effective at this track.

Improved to win a Beverley novice event on his third start in May, when with William Haggas. Well held in one handicap for that trainer and another on debut for this trainer at Wolverhampton recently. Drops 2lb, but bit to prove.

Multiple Tapeta winner from 6f-1m½f, but 0-8 on Polytrack (at either Kempton or Chelmsford). Runner-up when 1lb lower two starts back, so can't write him off, but others push stronger claims for the win.

Dual 6f winner here, including in a 0-73 handicap last time out, when getting up late. 3lb rise negated by claimer, but it has been a while since he has been up to winning in this grade on AW.

Champion Brogie26
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: Hollie Doyle| T: J S Moore| OR:  67| D
25/1
Arrives on the back of two wins from his last three AW runs, both of those at Kempton over 7f. Up 6lb for the latest, and also in grade, but still 4lb 'wrong' and looks up against it in his follow-up attempt.

Forecasts

Mohareb (11/4), Jackstar (11/4), Tipperary Jack (7/2), Corazon Espinado (7/1), Concierge (14/1), Luis Vaz De Torres (16/1), Kodiac Pride (20/1), Martineo (20/1), Ultimate Avenue (25/1), Champion Brogie (25/1), Eljaddaaf (33/1)

Verdict

A competitive handicap. Mohareb is unexposed and looks a player again, despite not winning from slightly lower marks on his last two starts. Jackstar is an obvious contender and should be thereabouts, but slight preference is for TIPPERARY JACK, who needs to prove he acts here, but otherwise looks a huge player if the visual impression left by his last-time win is anything to by. Luis Vaz De Torres and Champion Brogie arrive in good form, but they will have their work cut out to replicate last-time wins up in grade.
