Progressed markedly from debut effort when winning 6-runner C&D novice in the spring by short head from Cape Victory, battling well to hold off late thrust of the runner-up. Should improve again, and sets the standard here.

This Cityscape filly makes appeal on breeding, and she belied a £600 purchase price to win a fillies' novice at Wolverhampton on debut. Showed a tendency to hang there, but ought to improve.

Homebred half-brother to 6f winner Night Shadow, out of a maiden half-sister to useful winner up to 1m Thunderball. Modest form when sixth of 9 to Gleeful here on debut, and looks one for further down the line.

Beaten a long way on both starts so far, and hard to see blinkers doing enough to make him competitive.
Left Kevin Prendergast for £11,000 in August having been beaten a fair way on his sole start on the turf last year. Boats a decent enough pedigree, and needs a market check for all his absence is a concern.

Son of Casamento hasn't achieved much in a couple of starts to date, and is likely to be of more interest in handicaps after another run to get a mark.

Best effort for Hugo Palmer when third at Thirsk in August, and joined current connections for 35,000 gns in October. Goes without usual tongue tie here, but she's one to note in a race of this nature.

Improved on moderate debut effort when 4½L second of 9 to Sommer Katze here last time, although she will need to progress again to be competitive here.

Forecasts

Parallel World (2/1), Milagre Da Vida (3/1), Happy Face (9/2), Motawaazy (9/2), I Love You Baby (6/1), Feel The Thunder (33/1), Shamrad (50/1), Lambristo (100/1)

Verdict

It's a concern that PARALLEL WORLD has been off since April, but as a C&D winner with the best form in the race, there is plenty to like about his profile, and he is readily preferred to recent Wolverhampton debut winner I Love You Baby of the previous winners. A more potent threat may come in the shape of Happy Face, who has joined an underrated yard, and needn't improve much to figure.
  1. Parallel World
  2. Happy Face
  3. I Love You Baby
