Finally got her head in front last time when taking a C&D novice (perked up by a first-time visor). Headgear retained now, and handicapper hasn't overreacted to that win in modest company. Should be thereabouts.
Gained her third win of the year when landing a 6f claimer here last time, but she does face a sterner task now back in handicaps, and while she stays this trip, she's arguably better at shorter.
Ran respectably when runner-up in a maiden here last month for new yard, but two poor efforts since are hard to forgive, and he still looks high in the weights, even on his best form.
Has dropped to a workable mark after some modest form, but got back on track when second to Kalahari Queen over 6f here last time. Kept on well enough there, but does have to prove his stamina for this extra furlong.
Harshly handicapped starting out, but has eased 6lb in three starts, and made more impact than previously when 2¼L fourth of 13 to Valley of Fire in a 7f handicap at Newcastle last time. One to bear in mind.
Won twice here last winter for Richard Fahey, including off a 2lb higher mark. Back to form when ½L second of 8 to Bedtime Bella in a claimer here last time, but that came over 6f, and that appears to be his optimum trip.
Beaten a neck over an extended 1m at Epson in September, and now 1lb lower, but disappointing on final start for Ed de Giles, and again starting out for new connections at Lingfield last time.
C&D winner for Charlie Hills in May, but his form since has been regressive, and he again ran below form over 6f here last time. Now 2lb below last winning mark, however, and cheekpieces reached for now.
Won twice on turf at 7f since joining this yard earlier in the year, and back to form after a break when 3¼L second of 11 to Fancy Footings over 1m here last time. Can go well, with mark unchanged and drop in trip no concern.
Won at Leicester in September, but that was in a lowly seller, and he has been below form on both AW starts since. Has a bit to prove at present.
Won at Doncaster in April, but more miss than hit since, and below form when fifth of 14 to Valley of Fire at Newcastle last time, racing without his usual hood. No headgear again here, and opposable despite slipping in the weights.
Placed on first two starts in 2019, but largely disappointing since, albeit taking a step back in the right direction at Kempton last time. Visor replaces his usual hood here, and interesting to see if that sparks a revival.
Dual C&D winner at a lowly level early this year, but has struggled of late, including back on her preferred surface. Looks poorly handicapped on balance.
Has registered back-to-back wins over C&D on his last two starts, albeit at a more modest level, but this gelding had something to spare last time, and is well worth his place in stronger company.
Forecasts
Silver Dust (11/2), Bee Machine (6/1), Private Matter (7/1), Fieldsman (8/1), The Right Choice (9/1), Gleeful (9/1), Bedtime Bella (10/1), Socru (10/1), Scorched Breath (14/1), Al Suil Eile (16/1), Rock of Estonia (22/1), Sylviacliffs (22/1), Momtalik (33/1), Bombastic (33/1)
FIELDSMAN bounced back to form over 1m here last time and with the return to 7f no problem, he can score off an unchanged mark. Bee Machine is stepping up in class, but is worth his place in better company having won his last two over C&D with a bit in reserve. Silver Dust ran his best race last time, and has eased to a workable mark having initially been harshly assessed, and he is another to bear in mind.
- Fieldsman
- Bee Machine
- Silver Dust
