Won for the second time in his career when landing a 10 runner handicap over 1m4f at this venue earlier this month off a 6lb lower mark. Bit more needed but another bold show likely.
Has impressed when winning on both career starts in September at Cork and over C&D. Merits plenty of respect on handicap debut in this contest.
Winner of one of his two starts at this track. Not disgraced in a number of starts over the summer in big money handicaps on both sides of the Irish sea. Not to be taken lightly.
Winner at the second time of asking on this surface when landing a 14-runner 1m2½f handicap last month off a 5lb lower mark. Beaten since over 1m4f earlier this month but will appreciate the return to this trip.
Appeared to take to the track when making late headway to finish fourth of 14 beaten 2L over C&D last month. Requires plenty of respect.
Two-time course winner ran Charcor to 1L over C&D last month finishing second of 14. Beaten over further since but likely to appreciate the return to this trip in first-time blinkers.
Winner over C&D in May off a 3lb lower mark but the daughter of Rip Van Winkle appears to have lost her way of late in a couple of dismal efforts on turf at Galway and over C&D last month. Remains easy to oppose.
Ran a respectable fifth of 10 beaten 6L on return to action at this venue over 1m4f earlier this month. Has a enviable record of two wins and a place from three starts over C&D. One to be interested in.
Five-time course winner including two victories over C&D. Well behind a number of today's rivals in a couple of starts here since last month. Needs others to run below par to have a chance in this.
Winner of three of his seven starts at the track with the Rip Van Winkle gelding hitting the frame on both starts over C&D. Likely to improve on most recent effort and entitled to make the shortlist.
Off the mark at the sixth time of asking landing a Roscommon 1m2f maiden fillies contest in July. Ran with plenty of credit on return to action over C&D earlier this month and not to be taken lightly here.
Running with credit in a number of starts over C&D since October culminating in a victory when getting off the mark at the 10th time of asking for connections in a 14 runner maiden earlier this month. Strong place claims back in handicap company.
Winner of two of his 19 starts at this venue and has hit the frame on three occasions from five runs over C&D including a couple of solid efforts last month and met plenty of trouble in running earlier this month.
Forecasts
Simsir (5/2), Golden Valour (9/2), Bold Approach (13/2), Charcor (8/1), Sky Seven (8/1), Sheisdiesel (10/1), Rips Dream (10/1), Breaking Story (12/1), King's Vow (14/1), Secret Wizard (25/1), Sovereigns Bright (25/1), Spruce Meadows (33/1), Miss Snossyboots (66/1)
The Aga Khan-owned SIMSIR can land a hat-trick of wins as the Mick Halford-trained gelding looks to add to wins at Cork and over C&D in September. The three-year-old could face stiff opposition from stall 13 in the shape of last time out winner Bold Approach for the Jim Bolger/Kevin Manning combination and course winner Sky Seven in first-time blinkers. Victorious over C&D, Charcor and Golden Valour should not be underestimated while Sheisdiesel has a record of two wins and a place from three starts over C&D. Secret Wizard met trouble in running on a couple of occasions earlier this month and could be overpriced.
- Simsir
- Bold Approach
- Sheisdiesel
